Catastrophe Queen is Emma Hart's new laugh out loud, hot mess, surprisingly sweet romantic comedy. Emma always delivers the laughs, the lust, the fun, and the sexiness. Her writing is fantastic, her characters fun, flirty and hilarious. Mallory is a hot mess. A walking catastrophe. But she's sexy, pretty, funny and just trying to get a job so she can move back out of her parents' house. After an unfortunate incident with a car, a hot guy and a tragically lost cup of coffee, she get a job. But the hot guy? He's her new boss. They are as different as two people can be, but they instantly click. Yes, they are mutually attracted to each other, but there's more to it. They are comfortable, flirty and just genuinely like each other. Mallory isn't like any woman Cameron has ever met. She's smart, is really good at her job, but she's flighty, trips over her own feet and is constantly spilling things. She's just what he needs in his life. A ray of sunshine who amuses him and doesn't take herself too seriously. She's adorable and crazy and perfect for him. But, they can't date. They are boss and assistant. Right? Well, after just one little taste of her, he wants more. Who cares if she works for him. He's not letting her get away. It doesn't take too much to convince Mallory. Cameron is a great guy. He's nice, sweet, sexy, funny and kisses like a dream. She doesn’t care about his money or trying to impress him. They just fit together! I loved this story! Cameron is rich and handsome and wears suits, but he's not buttoned up. He's open, flirty, fun and has a great laugh. If anyone can make an office romance work, it's these two! Overall, I loved it. Laughed so much, smiled the rest of the time and never once wanted to smack anyone! That's a win win!

In fact, wine was about the only liquid I'd never spilled. Alcohol in general, actually. Coffee? Sure. Water? Always. Juice? Quite regularly. Alcohol? The nectar of the Gods? Hell to the no.

"I'm attracted to you. I think you're adorable and beautiful and funny, and if you'd like to resign so I can woo you without being your boss, I can't say I'd be sad to see you go."

"Have you seen that man's buns? Phwoar. That's a damn good choice righ there. Also, she's wearing yoga pants. That relationship isn't making it past a hot dog."

"Stop it. I'll bring you food. Clearly, that's the way to your heart."
"Uh-huh. Food and orgasms."
"Luckily for you, I'm good at giving both."

Probably 4.5 stars, but I will round up! Now, I have loved everything I have read by this author so far. This one did not disappoint! It started off immediately making me laugh out loud as I read. While I am not clumsy like this main character, so much else about her reminded me of myself, and that is usually what helps me get into the story. While there were lots of laughs throughout the story, there was a bit in the middle when I wasn't quite as invested as I've been in the other books by this author. Not sure why, just felt a little bit out of it. But further into the story, getting sucked into the craziness of Mallory's family, not to mention loving Cameron's as well, I was hooked once again, and couldn't tear myself away.

Once again I was won over by the hilarious banter and witty dialogue, steamy romance, and the sweet perfection of the man we are meant to fall in love with. I still think it would be a blast to hang out with this author some day, and hope one day I get the chance to meet her and totally fangirl!

I was kindly sent a copy of this book for review from Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Being a walking catastrophe is all fun & games until you're nearly run over by your soon-to-be gorgeous boss and walk off with you underwear on display...

Mallory's name literally means 'unfortunate' and her friend has labelled her a 'catastrophe queen'. Living back at home after a fire at her apartment building, she's determined to find a new job so she can move back out asap - her family is crazy annoying and she's walked in on her parents having sex one too many times. On her way home from a job interview at Reid's Real Estate, she's nearly run over by a gorgeous man, who just happens to see her underwear. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, it turns out he's her new boss, Cameron Reid. While Mallory may be a whiz at her new job, she's also very prone to accidents, like tripping over thin air and spilling coffee. But Cameron finds her endearing, calling her 'Hurricane Mallory', and like that the sparks begin to ignite. But is it really a good idea to get involved with your boss? Especially is you're a walking catastrophe like Mallory....

Hi, my name's Victoria and I LOVE Emma Hart's books! But hey, you knew that already, because I've read and reviewed a tonne of her books. And like the others, Catastrophe Queen was such a fun and cute read, with us the right amount of comedy, romance and steam.

Emma has a really great talent for pulling you into a character's world within the first quarter page and hooking you instantly. Mallory was just like that and I just had to keep reading, even if it meant no sleep - you know it's a good book if sleep at 2am isn't your top priority. Sleep is for the weak and I needed to discover Mallory and Cameron's story!

Mallory and Cameron's relationship was so fun to read and watch develop, especially since the build-up is most of the book - sure, the initial time-frame is short, but these two aren't jumping into bed together two days after meeting. Their relationship is fun and cute, filled with lots of flirting and banter, which was fun to follow - the perfect rom-com read.

Contemporary romance and rom-com fans, look no further for your next read! You're sure to fall in love (or trip if you're Mallory) with Cameron and Mallory's story and finish the entire thing in one sitting. If you're new to Emma's books, this is a fantastic place to start - I'm sure you'll be hooked on her writing and soon fall down the Emma Hart rabbit hole (which I cannot recommend enough!).

Emma Hart is my go to when it comes a great rom-com story.

This story did not disappoint. Mallory is truly a hurricane. She is clumsy, she is awkward, she is sassy, she has one crazy family and I couldn't help but love her and her crazy family. Cameron is put together, pretty much the exact opposite of Mallory and these two fit together perfectly. I loved their banter. This was a sweet romance and I loved every single moment about it.

A must read book for anyone who loves rom-coms!

Slow Going

It was ok but slow. The female lead drove me a little bonkers. I just wasn’t a fan. It seemed to go on and on. No real action or excitement.

Mallory and Cameron’s story was so much fun. I was giggling and even laughing out loud at the antics in this book.

I loved how Mallory was far from perfect. She was as clumsy as clumsy can get and I think we can all appreciate that (at least just a little). What I loved more was that Cameron loved that she was a klutz. SWOON! Their romance was slow burn, and while I didn’t quite expect it, I really enjoyed it. The build up, the angst, and especially the banter between these two were my favorite.

Emma Hart writes secondary characters like no one else! They are so quirky and never fail to make me laugh out loud. We all have family members and friends that are similar to the supporting characters and make it easy to relate to them.

If you’re looking for a rom-com with very little drama and a romance that will leave you with a smile on your face, pick this one up right now.

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

Catastrophe Queen is a fun and easy romcom read about Cameron, a real estate agent and Mallory, his new assistant.

Mallory is a bit of a clutz, known affectionately by her family and friends as a Catastrophe Queen. On her way to a job interview for an assistant at a real estate agency, she is nearly run over, typical Mallory, but she still surprisingly gets the job. Only it turns out the driver who nearly knocked her down is none other than her new boss, Cameron. Cameron and Mallory are attracted to each other, but keep it professional at work, until they slowly start slipping into each other’s personal lives outside work hours. As they spend more time together, their attraction grows, but will Mallory the clutz fit in to Cameron’s perfect put together life?

Emma Hart has been one of my go to authors for a while, but unfortunately Catastrophe Queen fell a bit flat. I enjoyed Cam and Mallory’s flirty banter, but some places felt repetitive, especially how most of their conversations revolved around how clumsy Mallory was. I wasn’t blown away by the plot, I liked the characters, but they still felt fairly two dimensional and I never really felt like I connected to them. Mallory’s family were hilarious, they were the highlight of the scenes they were in. As for Mallory and Cam as a couple, I felt like there was chemistry, but I wasn’t rooting for them from the start as I have in the past with Emma’s books.

My main problem with this book is the number of grammatical errors and typos in it. Names were changing halfway through, word were misspelt, and from looking at reviews from over two years ago, it seems nothing has changed since this book was published. I try and overlook the odd typo, but when it gets to the point where I’m wondering who a new character is, and it turns out their name has changed, it brings me out of the story and negatively affects my reading experience.

Overall, I would say Catastrophe Queen is a good filler read, great for in between dark and tortured romances, light-hearted enough to make you laugh but not very memorable a few days after finishing.
