It's actually very interesting and an incredible story. I always like a book where characters lives in the book and they become real or come out of a book , like Ink heart. Her, the author's, imagination is very fantastical. It has become my favorite book now. This book is about a kingdom who lives in a story and a book. Whenever a reader opens the book, all the characters started to play their role. One day, Claire, the reader forgets to close the book and put it besides her and fall asleep. Princess Sylvie climbs into her dreams and get a chance to meet her. And here goes the adventure..

This was a reread, and one of many over the years; this book is one of my all-time favourites. If you have ever been a reader, a writer, or a dreamer- pick this one up. You won't regret it. :)

29 April, 2014:

This is another of those books I can't quite explain my liking for. It's a story of book characters, their Readers, and their author.

Strangely enough, both my sister and I read it when we were young and then kind of forgot about it, only to discover it years later. It's one of those books that kind of slips the mind unless it's in front of you. Oh, /that/ book! I loved that book! What was it called?

I don't know if that's really a good sign or not, but I like it in some of the books I read--they're always a surprise when they're rediscovered.

The beginning very funny--about the characters in a book (running to their places when a reader starts to read) and one character in particular, Sylvie, wants to break the boundaries of her agreed-upon script, who wants to have new experiences, grow, learn.
Very quickly gets weird though--books get burned & characters escape into reader's mind--then go into a strange part of the reader's mind, where they recreate their story but not exactly--musings on death, transformation, life...but overall kind of strange & creepy & not very good.

Such a good book! I used it as my shower read so my copy is water damaged I hope Sylvie doesn’t mind. This was everything the Neverending Story wasn’t. It was the perfect length while still having a cool premise that could extend into other books if interested. I recommend to anyone and everyone especially those who have always wanted to interact with their factories fictional characters.

The blend of fiction and reality was awesome and while I probably won’t be reading the rest of the series Roderick Townley did an excellent job.

It is also a great book to read to get out of a reading slump with its quick pace. It is heavily character driven and the characters are lovable. I often find main characters to be a bit annoying, but Sylvie wasn’t at all!
