This book is phenomenal to me. There are no words. But I'll try to convey a little.
"On rare occasions—and when you’re very lucky—you stumble upon a book that awakens a dimension of you that you had not known existed. A story that feels like an unlocking, or a becoming, like something inside you is shifting into a new and strange place—piecing itself together or breaking apart or both. It’s a wonderful feeling: to find a story that you can carry within you so powerfully it sears through your bones, and takes root in your chest, and winds itself so tightly around your being it becomes an inextricable part of you." - from chai's review
This is what this book feels to me.

An incredible journey that the characters take you, not only with historical facts but with philosophical quotes that made me swell. Really.
I recommend this book to everyone because I feel like, at the end of it, everyone finds a character that they identify the most with. This is definitely a book that I wanna visit again sometime in the future and I don't usually read a book twice.
"I don't belong anywhere.
I am neither a heart, a diamond, a club, nor a spade. I am neither a King, a Jack, an Eight, nor an Ace.
As I am here - I am merely the Joker, and who that is I have had to find out for myself.
Every time I toss my head, the jingling bells remind me that I have no family.
I have no number - and no trade either.
I have gone around observing your activities from the outside.
Because of this, I have also been able to see things to which you have been blind.
Every morning you have gone to work, but you have never been fully awake.
It is different for the Joker because he was put into this world with a flaw:
he sees too deeply and too much."

Everyone needs to read this book!!! It was amazingly written and the ending just made everything fit together so perfectly. The mystery is what motivated me throughout this book, however, I flew through the last 80 or so pages just wanting to know what happened. If you are iffy in the beginning of this book, definitely hold on, it's so worth it to finish. This was a fantastic book.
Felt like an intellectual fever dream married socrates' lsd trip
2.5☆
There was some wise words that I liked and the story is fine, but the book just didn't get trought me

It left me with so many questions about the true nature of life and our surroundings. This book is a master piece in philosophy and a great fantasy adventure. I've loved every page of this book.
“Destiny is a cauliflower head which grows equally in all directions.”

its a sad story about a boy on a road trip with his alcoholic father, to look for his mom/wife that left them 8 years ago. the story within the story (about the past and the cards) is what i remember from when i was a kid and it was interesting but not as fantastical as i remembered.
i've gotten too spoiled w good literature, great minds in authors.
this i wont recommend to anyone, sadly.
