One of the absolutely best books I have read in a very long time. The characters and the story are so compelling. Lots of twists in the plot. The audiobook is so well done.

I was supposed to read it for Book Club but I didn’t like the writing style, it was confusing and not interesting. It should be easy to make a child facing off a kidnapper exciting but I was just bored

Engaging, well written even though the chapters were flimsy but I think it helped with the pacing overall. I really enjoy thrillers that make you think you know what’s going on and then flip it upside down (and in a meaningful way, not just for shock value). I found some of Patch’s expectations of Saint to be a little misplaced and my poor girl literally got dealt shitty hand after shitty hand for none of the credit. Rich characters and the pacing was good- I could’ve done without the random 3 news callouts to mark a new decade. Overall was a good read but some of it was a little too outlandish for how grounded the story was trying to be.

DNF'ed at 30%.

I wouldn't say it's bad per se, but the writing style isn't for me.

I knew it from the first chapters (this has short chapters) and yet, I tried to power through to see what the hype was about.

But it really isn't for me. It felt dull.

Or maybe I'm just too dumb for this
