Wow. I am at the end. What started as a look on interesting looking cycle in bookstore (in CZ version), ended with love for English version.
As for the story itself - I like how each character is developed and that nothing is black & white. Even Leesha, Inevera or Jardir. Or Elona. I like how it is unfolded from the beginning, with glimpses into past; and continue in the future. Was surprised by the ending, it was little bit unexpected, but actually... when I am thinking about it.. I like it. Books where you can predict ending you usually don't remember after some time. I think I will remember this one for a long time :) Thanks for that :)
Looking forward for more books from Peter V. Brett :) (and it does not matter if it will be from Demon cycle environment or completely new one :) )

The end of my journey started from a recommendation from a dating app suitor. That didn't work out but this series was great. Didn't read the novellas but since it seems alot of the characters ended up in the main books I know the stories were good. Doubtful a new series will come from this given that there are still demons in the world but if it did I'd pick up the first book. Not all our favorites see the end of the tale but the last book prepared me for that with Rojer's death. Still sad to see them go. Enjoyed the saga, might look into more of Brett's work down the road.

This was a monster read taking me over a month to finish once school went back. A good conclusion to an entertaining series that kind of neatly tied everything up. I think I enjoyed the first two books the most when there were less characters and storyline as it got a bit overwhelming towards the middle of this book and sporadic reading didn't help. Look forward to seeing where Brett goes from here.
This series lost it's way so badly after third book. The main protagonists all vanished and story started to revolve unintresting secondary and tertiary characters and gameofthronesy politicking. All I wanted from the book was Arlen vs the Core! I turbosped through most of the book. It was an ending ok..
This was so bad. About twice as long as it needs to be with new, tangential characters and storylines introduced – in the final part of a five parter?! Who cares! Get back to the main story!
The whole thing was just messy, with cheesy dialogue, two dimensional characters, silly martial arts self-indulgences, and a totally predictable resolution. There was far too much of stuff like noble choices winning out, glorious martyred self-sacrifice and simplistic, black and white morality in this book and not enough smart dialogue, nuanced characters. Oh, and too much hacking and slaying (where the outcome is never in doubt). It’s stuff like this that gives fantasy a bad name.
It’s a shame because the first two books were pretty good, and I’ve given two stars in acknowledgement of them being good enough to keep me reading to the end of this – and also because some of the writing is fairly good. But overall - meh
