No sé. YES GURL. THAT'S THE KIND OF ENTRANCE YOU HAVE TO MAKE.

This was my least favorite of the trilogy and could have been its own spin off. There are only a few things that tie this book and the first 2 together. However, I didn’t hate this book and the twists and adventure through New Orleans made for an enjoyable read.

FULL REVIEW COMING CLOSER TO RELEASE DATE!

This series should have really been a duology. Catacomb was not needed. It could probably end up being read as a standalone in my opinion. Catacomb had and awesome idea, but it was dull and didn't keep me interested at all. The other book sin this series I read in a few hours and this one I kept taking breaks to do other things. It lagged A LOT. The only thing I liked is we learned more about Dan's parents and their relation to the things that went on at Brookline. The romance STILL wasn't clarified in this book. I am beginning to think that Dan has no social skills at all. As the same with Sanctum, half the times the book and the pictures didn't match up. They were nice to look at but had no purpose.

I can't believe I've finally finished the series! This is definitely my favorite book out of the three.

In this last book, Dan, Abby, and Jordon head to New Orleans, and on the way, they uncover secrets about a gang called the "Bone Artists", and also about Dan's past.

I love the change of environment and setting for this book. In the last two books, the plot's setting was in Brookline and around New Hampshire. In this book, part of the setting is the places they visit on their road trip, and the rest is in New Orleans, with new places to explore, and not just a dingy dorm building.

Catacomb focuses a lot on Dan's birth parents, and the Bone Artists, and less on the whole "Warden Crawford" plotline. It wraps things up nicely because we finally understand the full story of Dan's past.

I think it's weird how they never explained the mechanic part, I honestly think that bit could just be erased, considering how it's never brought up again, it wouldn't make much of a difference.

The thing I find the most unique about the series, is that the "big boss" of the antagonists [Warden Crawford and *spoilers* FInnoway] are downright evil psychos, and there's no reason for why they're like that. There's no sad backstory or anything, Crawford was just born a psycho and Finnoway just continued the family business with no remorse or guilt, they don't feel human emotions and are just crazy psychopaths. That's something I don't see very often, so I particularly enjoyed this.

I think the entire series is a great and compelling story, I enjoyed it very much!

Eh, not as good as the first two. I spent most of the time confused and wondering how this truly related (I get that his birth parents were the tie but it felt weak). Not as creepy as the first two, which is why I'm here for a horror novel. Worth reading to round out the series, though. I did once again enjoy the audio, though!

The actual horror aspect in this book compared to the others in the series was disappointing and the characters that I've grown fond of were just grouchy and unlikeable in this story. Jordan is constantly tearing Dan down and he is just taking it. But not once did I feel like DNFing the book due to Madeleines writing being some of my favorite to read, it's very easy to read.  I reserve 2 stars for books that I have to push through and fight to finish which is the reason I am giving this a 3.
