This is my second Sandra Brown book... and I’m obsessed!! Stephan Lang does an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

Dawson Scott, amazing journalist, is jaded coming back from Afghanistan covering the war. His godfather FBI agent Gary Headley gives him a tip on a lead after his terrible boss tries to assign him a bogus assignment. Something intrigues Dawson about this case - but you won’t find out the reason until the last bit of the book

I've read a number of Sandra Brown books, but this one is going to be one of my favorites.

I really wish that these characters could get MORE story. There is STILL so much for them to do, in the future or in the past (flashbacks).

Dawson and his story is so good, that it could've been overlooked by the main story. His compassion as a reporter and a writer made me love him...as we get to know him. He's definitely NOT a perfect person (who is in real life), but his flaws are a part of who he sees himself as and who is able to become.

Loved the themes that were discussed in this book. Not all of them were throw aways, but themes that resonated throughout the entire book. Dealt with with care and truth. If a person was going through ANYTHING similar to the people in this story, then I think they would gain something by read it. I know I have, though haven't had such a rough childhood and background.

Loved the diary entries. I was wondering how she would circle around and include them into the narrative proper.

Really glad I read this book. Have three other Sandra Brown books on my shelf...will get to them sooner than later.

Impressive read. Brown has written a really great romantic suspense and that surprised me as I have found her books hit or miss these past few years.

This book has enough nasty characters threatening the heroine and her boys to make it a gripping thriller. Add to this a hunky but troubled journalist and you get a good balance of plot and relationship development. There is even enough fluid exchange to keep you romantics happy while we thrill seekers try to figure out when and where the next threat will appear.

If nothing else, the book is worth reading just for the Glory InDeath moment for all you ID fans.

This was a great story with a great twist at the end, that I'm not sure many people could see coming ( it's always great when an author can surprise you). I wish I didn't have the habit of reading the endings of books out of order because I would have liked being surprised by this book. I think it was extremely well-written as far as plot twists go, and Brown was able to make Dawson into a character who shouldn't have been well-liked, but was. I thought he was a great imperfect hero.

This was a very interesting story line. I had a great time trying to piece everything together before the characters themselves did.

I did have some icky moments with the romance thought. The things that Dawson was able to get away with, without much repercussions made me shiver. That and the fact that it didn't take much time at all for Amelia to be okay with it all.

I just don't know if I'm okay with it.

Finally finished a book after 2 weeks. And it wasn't because this book wasn't good - it's fantastic! Book slump + no reading time makes me an unhappy bookworm, but I'm glad I picked this one up - so good!!
