The story is actually great and has the potential to be so much better, but for me there’s something seriously lacking with this series. It could be the writing style, as it’s a bit toooo amateurish? We don’t need such a play by play of characters actions, especially when it comes to Fin magically closing doors, magically sound proofing rooms etc.

Also didn’t love the weight gain comments - they were unnecessary, distasteful and came across really dated.

I would give this 5 stars if if were better written as I love the general concept of the series, but for me it just drags a bit too much - especially the parts where everyone is ‘howling with laughter’. Hopefully the authors writing style improves as she produces more books!

The Third is The Charm

The third installment of The House Witch was delightful. It was a great build from the other two in the series & had many twists & turns to keep this reader entertained.
I truly enjoyed it every step of the journey.
If you need a lighthearted, fun, and well designed trilogy, this is it.

2,5
Some things got better (redhead naming), some still kind of strange (pregnant women in 1,5 month is bigger because of twins?, sorry no, too soon to be significantly showing), killing of Kate was strange turn of the events .... overall it was light, fun series, but it requires lot of editing to be really good. Also I do not feel female characters were written very well.

This was a great end to a fun trilogy. All the story lines came to a satisfying conclusion with no rush to tie things up. Well done.

Pretty sure this is my favorite fantasy series in recent memory, and probably in my top 5 of all time. Funny, well-written, well-plotted, and I actually *cried* in this one. My only complaint is that I want *more*.

Luckily the last one because the style has run its course. It's too similar to the rest except that the war drains much of the fun out of it. There wasn't really anything surprising as the bad guys come to the good guys' home and try to conquer it. Fin, Kraken and crew save the day.
