I really enjoyed this! Easy read, Gothic Romance, YA.
I love anatomy and the fact the MFC is smart, and has a passion for learning, makes this a good read.
I will say the ending is predictable, and the murderer is so obvious, but it was interesting in the way the author put everything together.
I definitely plan on contuing the series.

Very slow to start.
They didn't meet until 1/3 of the book.
They didn't kiss until 2/3 of the book.
Little to no love shown for a love story. Fell in love at first sight kind of stuff.
It was okay

3.25ish stars. It’s a duology, sure, but I felt like there was a lot of building for a very hurried climax and not a lot of payoff at the end of book one. I like the concept a lot, but it felt like the book should’ve been at least 50 pages longer to match the level of detail of the beginning of the story in the last 100 pages. Look forward to the follow up book to redeem the story.

Anatomy holds its own element of unique and gruesome vibes intertwined in its pages.
Based in Edinburg in the 1817, it shares a rustic, old school vibe surrounding Lady Hazel Sinnet destined for an arranged marriage. However, she would rather defy the norm of her set destiny and become a surgeon.
Kicked out only after a couple day of attending classes for being a woman she has to find another way to pass the medical exam. Another way to practice and learn…
This dark and gothic tale encompasses all things eerie as well as an odd placement of an intriguing love story.
Upon finishing this read, I’ve realized Anatomy is duology! And Immortality A Love Story is being released Feb 28, 2023! Which I’ve of course preordered!

Anatomy was a beautiful surprise that I enjoyed much more than I expected and reminded me a lot of another beloved series, Stalking Jack the Ripper. It’s a slow burn, but I was having such a good time discovering all the gruesome details of the anatomy and fascinating characters, all in a breathtaking atmosphere that I had no trouble flying through it.
As someone who isn’t a big fan of romance, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it didn't take up as much space as I feared. However, I think it is misinterpreted as a romantic historical fiction when it’s anything but.
If I had anything to criticize though, it would be the brevity of the book. The romance, Hazel’s passion for anatomy, the Roman Fever, the mystery of the disappearance of the poor people, it was a lot for such a short book, and it feels like almost none of it was developed to its full potential because of that. The reveal of the big mystery was quite predictable, but I’m still highly anticipating the sequel.
