Cute love story based in the Florida Keys. Not too smutty but has some heat. FMC is Cuban so I expected, or maybe wished for more family dynamics like the first book in the series. A bit predictable but still provided a satisfying ending.
This was a cute read but the premise was just really, reallllllly out of the realm of possibility... I love suspending my disbelief for fun novels like this one, but this one felt almost impossible to do so. In what universe does a woman approach a stranger in a parking lot and ask him to be her pretend boyfriend for a week? Especially when that involves sharing a room and spending 24/7 time together, etc... with a total stranger? That and the insta-love was just a little too unbelievable for me, but cute/quick read overall and I would read other books by the author!
Very cute. Started fast, dragged in the middle, and then a fairly abrupt ending. I really liked all of the characters and was rooting for them.
Excellent contemporary romance with a warm heart, a clever premise, and a delightfully transportive setting. Highly recommended, should be in everybody’s beach bag this summer.
This book took me almost a year to finish. A YEAR. I don’t know why either. It was so hard for me to get into at first. I can’t pinpoint why because this book is everything I love and want. After I just couldn’t get into it, I put it down for about 11 and a half months and just picked it back up a few days ago, determined to finish it. I’m so happy I did. Once I was able to get into the book I was actually into it. It was a cute story but it wasn’t a favorite by any means. I had to give it three stars by the amount of time it took me to read this book. It has NEVER taken me this long to read one book. I’m glad I have finished it now though.
This is probably the first romance novel I’ve read since high school and while I normally read mystery, fantasy, current events books - I’m definitely going to start reading more of yours.
It was a wonderful story, great / fun characters and, of course, a happy ending. In this day and age I love being able to visit a place with delightful characters in a setting that sounds absolutely amazing. (I’ve never been to the Keys).
Thanks you for this all-to-brief escape to sunny Florida!
Now - what book do you recommend I read next?!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
I was not familiar with Oliveras but enjoyed this book. It is a bit more risqué than I typically read but there were some deeper topics woven throughout the book including forgiveness, family and eating disorder/recovery. Even hitting on those heavier topics the book was a fast easy read and a great distraction during the current events of the world.
The author does an amazing job of describing Key West and the surrounding area. I definitely want to visit the area now after reading it. I enjoyed the Cuban influence in the book having visited Cuba last year.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

DNF at Chapter 4. I couldn't get into the story and there was way too much eating disorder talk for me. I thought this was going to be a light happy beach read, I don't really want to read about folks struggling with an eating disorder when I'm looking for a feel good read.
Omg they were so boring!!!! These characters. Were just like. Terribly boring. Writing was not engaging.
Oof…man! This book was so so good! ⠀
⠀
I instantly fell in love with both Luis and Sara! Their chemistry leaps off the page, and you just want to root for them! ⠀
⠀
I have only been to Key West once (very briefly on a cruise), but this makes me want to return and visit again! ⠀
⠀
Even though this book is a romance novel at its core, it does not shy away from very deep and important topics such as death of a loved one, eating disorders, unfaithfulness in a relationship, a family member having cancer, and the disappointment/pressure one feels to live up to a family’s expectations. This book does a wonderful job at dealing with each of these things in a very real way, and doesn’t sugar coat them at all. ⠀

A definite summer read! ⠀
