This book exceeded my exceptions. I am not really a runner but wanted to learn more about superrunners so picked up this book. The books thesis is that we were all born to run and centralizes around the Tarahumara runners of Mexico. It also touches on darwinian theories of survival of the fittest, proper and healthy ways to run, and also boasts the science behind barefoot running. It was a great read throughout, highly inspiring and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good - semilight read!
finishing this felt like a guilty pleasure? his writing and generalizations are SO CRINGY, yet i couldn’t look away. plus so much of this “science” has been disproven it’s honestly wild he hasn’t published a new edition. still looking for a book about running that doesn’t suck!

Makes you want to lace up your shoes and head out! I loved the inspiration to run simply for the pleasure of movement - not for the exercise or to be the fastest. I would recommend to anyone needing a pick me up in their running!
