Years after a bad breakup West is going through life trying to stay away from the bottle but at the same time knowing that his needs can never be met. Rhys photography has always been a passion for him but the right picture to get his career to flourish has yet to be taken. When the two connect and West's inner Little is on display will the two be exactly what each other needed? Or will it be yet one more disappointment to overcome? With great characters this was a great addition to the series.

3.5 / 5 stars for me on this one.

What I loved about this was the exploration of recovery with alcoholism; the impact on life was portrayed beautifully. From familial relationships to personal ones, the author really dove into this and I found myself appreciative of how well this part of the story was written. I loved how it impacted the character's association with his kink, and how it played a role in the relationship with West and Rhys.

I did find myself lacking a connection with Rhys; other than his relationship with his father, I never really found myself connecting into his headspace, unlike I did with West.

One thing I was disappointed in was the lack of description surrounding the kink. I'm not sure whether it was an unfair expectation of the book based on the others in this series, but I was hoping for more of West and Rhys exploring their relationship with the kink included. For me, this is where the book fell for me. All in all, it was a unique storyline and fits well in the Bold Brew series.

If you're looking for something heavy with angst, light on kink details, but you're curious about age-play, this may be the book for you.

I received a copy of this book from GRR and this is my honest review.

Going to be honest here, I knew going that there was kink involved in this book and as I started reading I was a little concerned it might be a bit much - I like a little bit of kink but nothing too heavy. I needn't have worried, this book focuses more on the building of the relationship between Rhys and West and the kink is by the by. Yes, it's one of the major factors in getting West and Rhys together but not the only focus and it's not too detailed - kink light if you will.

What I liked - West. I liked him very much, rebuilding a new life after such a bad trauma is not easy and while he's had it tough, this must be like the light at the end of a very dark tunnel for him. I also liked Rhys, and his dedication to his work to the point of neglecting himself. I liked the instant connection between the two as well, and the development of the relationship.

Overall this was different to what I expected going in - in a good way - it's more a story of two people finding each other and common ground and building a relationship on that foundation. And learning to trust again and find the light.

Well this was a sucky way for the series to end. Even without my general dislike for age gaps (real or fantasy in books), this was just full of odd interactions and weird pacing.

Also, I spent the whole series waiting to see West's life with the foster dog, and she just got tossed aside in this story. #JusticeForPamelaTheYorkie

Oh my God this book was so boring. So boring. I legitimately skimmed the last 30% because I was bored out of my mind. The timelines don't match within this story and they also don't match with the other book in the series that one of these characters is mentioned in. I think it's book two that mentions West, one of the MCs in this book. And book two West is a side character and He got his own story and this one but nothing made sense. And then in regards to the dual POV of the two MCs for this book, their storyline did not make sense. they're all of a sudden was a whole bunch of time that they said they had together that they didn't have unless things happened off page and it just wasn't mentioned? Also the kink in this one was not well done. It was bordering on fetishy. I just didn't like it.

but, this is the last one and the bold brew series and I have officially completed them. I feel accomplished and I forbid myself from starting another series this month at least. We'll see how long that lasts.
