The narrator’s southern accent for all these mfs who are supposed to be from New York is JARRING. It also sounded like she hard r-d them constantly. Too much of the male protagonist talking about the “potential” he saw in the female protagonist and also regularly referring to her as battered ?? I’ve had enough.

The love story in this book, is the best in all street-lit books I ever read.
The passion Jada and Born had for one another, is special and created a once-in a lifetime bond for them.

This book perfectly depicts the heartbreaking reality of drug addiction.

One of my favourite street-lit books.

whewwwww a book!!! This story is such a good urban tale that will take you on a RIDE. Jada is somebody you will root for even when she does wrong and this is such a entertaining love story that you will want to follow until the end.

One of my favorite books. Great love story and tale of caution. Didn't think I was going to like it at first. I thought it was some of the "street" fiction that unfortunately keeps getting published. I was pleasantly surprised. I loved it and passed it on to my sister who loved it. I started it and couldn't put it down ( I literally missed my train stop, but it was okay- it gave me more time to read as I had to go back)

I have just stared reading urban fiction. This was the BEST Urban Fiction book I've read thus far. It wasn't too hood or grimey, it was just REAL. Love, lust, lies, betrayal, addiction, abuse... It's all in this book. A real page turner. I couldn't put this book down. Tracy Brown's attention to detail is amazing. I loved the characters Born, Jada and Sunny. Tracy painted the characters so well in my head that I could've painted them on a canvas and I'm not a painter. A MUST READ FOR EVERY READER, ESPECIALLY LOVERS OF URBAN FICTION! Looking forward to reading more books by this author. White Lines II: Sunny, here I come.

reading street lit is like exhaling a summer breeze. brown is a good writer and she doesn't over-glamorize street life. the story is a great narrative about the positive and negative impact of (crack) cocaine in our communities. i recommend it. my only qualms were that 1) sometimes it read like a commercial for all the designer brands and 2) why all the pretty women gotta be light-skinned and/or exotic looking with really long hair? some hurdles are harder to cross i suppose.

This was the first book that I read by this author. I don't normally read this genre but I could not put this book down. This book was good!! It's real and authentic and once you start it, you can't put it down.
I recommend this book, you will not be disappointed
