Fun! Ultimate Marvel wasn’t perfect but Spider-Man and X-Men were the best parts, and this is a fun crossover with the time traveling X-Men and the Ultimate universe.

The art was not as good as I would have liked. It was cartoony and I'd like to think it terrible but I've seen so much worse. And this is a multiple worlds issue, presumably leading up to Secret War, and alternate worlds issues are rarely good. But this remains the best Jean Grey ever - well actually the only decently written one. And the different characters actually seemed different and similar and real. And Miles Morales is a pretty decent spider-man. 3.5 of 5.

The original X-Men have a small adventure and then come back. This is a pretty pointless story, but it hints at the end that it might have changed Beast and Jean's minds a bit.

My favourite of this series of All New X-Men. Really enjoyed the interaction with the Ultimate Universe, and the further insight we get into young Jean Grey, who is one of the most interesting characters in Marvel comics at the moment.

2021 Summer (July);
Reread of Baby!Jean Arc
Most of these were read in a blur of summer bliss in a hammock in a backyard garden as I finally followed up on my original reads of the baby!Jean storyline that I'd gotten half into before falling out of again. I really do continue to love this storyline mostly for her.

Right back into fun territory
+time travel is always a win in my book
++Miles is a treat. Miles with Jean even better
++Never get tired of different ones from different timelines running into each other
-Dr Doom wrap up happened a bit too quick
+++Young Iceman
++Artwork and page layout is top notch here

This is the kind of whimsical, dimension hopping fun I like from my X-Men stories. (With a touch of angst as X-Men learn who's dead in various dimensions, of course...) Also: aww, Miles Morales!
