Better as a novella..

This storyline would have been much better as a novella, something to tide us over before the next book. There was just the one storyline going on and it could have been fixed in half as many pages. This really dragged on. I hope the next is better.

I think I enjoy punishing myself 😒 I just want some closure since I’ve come this far. But nope, this storyline is quicksand and is not going anywhere!

Ok so these books have been going downhill for me. After 11 books I was kind of hoping Sang wouldn’t stress me out so much. I understand being an introvert. I’m also an introvert. I’ve never been abused in any way so I can never understand that but and I do think she is more social.. at least with the guys. But she just worries about every single little thing. Even when the guys have told her multiple times that they care.. she just stresses me out with all of her worrying. Also irk why this is just occurring to me... 9 guys.. right now she’s 16 and it’s just kisses but uh later on if they all get married... 9 guys! Just sayin.

OMG.

OMG.

Oh.

My.

GAWD.

I can't even BEGIN to put into words all the emotions I have running through me at this moment.

But first, allow me some serious fangirlish squealing.

*in a high pitched voice*

AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THE KISSES OHHHHHH ALL THE HOT YUMMY KISSES AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Ahem. I'm quite done.

Now that we've got that settled, here's what I WILL actually say about this without spoiling anything.

Firstly, this was SO worth the wait! The quality of editing and even writing was much, MUCH better than the other books. C. L. is becoming a better writer with every new installment. Also, it's worth the price. (This coming from a college student, so hear hear).

And second, there were so many issues that were addressed in this book that were ongoing from previous books. Some new ones were introduced, but either they were minor and solved, or a solution was found and in the path towards being solved. A lot of it has to do with THE PLAN. You know what I mean.

That's it. I won't say any more than I was highly satisfied and eagerly awaiting the next one, b/c the teaser for that at the back of this one was pure torture.

Now stop reading this review and go read the book yourself. Go! Shoo!

This review may contain spoilers from the previous books, but will not contain spoilers for Black and Green.

It seems liked we've been waiting a hundred and one years for this book, even though I know it hasn't quite been that long. But it was still so exciting to dive back into this series and see what's been going on with the crew while they've been gone.

At this book of the series, these books stress me out to no end. After everything that has happened, I just want Sang and all the guys to be happy and together. And that would be a boring book, I'll admit, but it would be nice, wouldn't it? However, the drama in this book was fun, and I really enjoyed it.

The Good Points of Black and Green:

I loved that it was also told from Dr. Green's perspective. We've only really gotten to see Sang so far in these books, so it was great to have some other opinions and thoughts. And based on the Academy report we saw at the end, it looks like this might be a common thing moving forward.

I loved the change of drama in this book. While I still really want to see what's going on at the school and with Volto and all that, this was a fresh, new situation, which was super fun to read about.

The ending of this book was so good. I won't say too much about it, but the ending was so good, and I loved how they resolved the issue.

I really enjoyed how they're all starting to deal with their relationship and the way the issues come up and get handled. It's a complex, complicated thing they're trying to do, and I love that it's not being played off as this easy, fun little thing they're doing. It makes it so much better to read about.

The Downsides of Black and Green:

While the editing is getting better as we go, I still want more of it. Some stuff still reads funny, and while there aren't as many obvious mistakes as in previous books, it could still use more editing work than it gets.

While I liked a lot of the relationship drama in this book, I felt that the characters didn't grow as much in this book, despite everything that had happened, compared to the previous books in the series. It was just the same thing the whole way through.

All in all, I did really enjoy this book, and I'm still in love with this series. I can't wait until the next book comes out, whenever that happens to be. I'd love for this series to wrap up before I'm an old woman reading about teenagers, but at the same time, I want it to go on forever so I can stay addicted. If you love unique romance books, secret societies and hot guys, you should definitely check out this series.

You know when you read a series or book and you just know that it will stick with you forever. That is the Ghost Bird Series by CL Stone for me. I read this series when I was 17 going on 18 and I am 22 now and this series has still stayed in my heart. This was also the first romance book series that I read and it changed the course of my life.

This is an RH slow burn romance, and when I say slowburn, I mean slowburn. But it's the best slow burn imaginable and honestly you don’t even realize that Sang has not kissed anyone because of all the conflict and drama.

There is honestly so much conflict in this series that my head spins. Plus the guys are so swoon worthy, the things they say makes me squeal and makes me so flustered.

I love the plot, characters, and the mystery. Who is after the Sang and her guys? I swear there is so much that happens in this series that I could not possibly explain all of it.

Sang is unique and all of her guys are unique and different yet they all have one thing in common, Family first which is one of the reasons I adore this series.

I will forever re-read this series and cherish these characters. They are special to me. So far I’ve read and reread books 1 through 12 and I cannot wait to read books 13 and 14 and the other 6 books when CL Stone releases them. Oh Yes, this is a long series.

Once again, CL Stone has created another novel with Sang and her boys that blows my mind. So many authors attempt to create a plot that continues on to so many novels in one series but many fail because they can't keep things interesting. Not true for this one. This is one of my favorite series of all times and somehow every book involves the characters in new and interesting situations that keep me on the edge of my seat.

What I really love about the series at this point in time is how the relationships are evolving. There has been a continuous and slow build up from the very first book that has had me wanting more. And here I am reading Black and Green and finally seeing the development of the relationships moving a little faster. Don't get me wrong, it isn't that I don't like how things are progressing, instead it was the fact that it seemed to be progressing so slowly but it was definitely worth the wait.

Something that really intrigued me in this novel that changes things up a little bit compared to the rest of the series was the point of view. Instead of the book being wholly from Sang's perspective, there are chapters from Sean's (Dr. Green's), Kota's, and a couple of the other guys. Usually I'm not a fan of the shifting perspectives because it can get confusing but it was done so well that I fell in love with even more with these characters. In other books it was kind of hard to guess what everyone was feeling because Sang's depiction of the boys was the only basis to go off of. Yet in this newest novel by CL Stone, the boys had a lot more voice and I LOVED IT!

So if you are a fan of the series don't be scared to buy and DEVUOR this novel! It has kept up with what the series has promised and added so much more than what was expected. Just when things seem to be getting easier, there has to be something (or someone) that stirs the pot and throws the group out of whack. So go and buy this book (and/or the series) and enjoy the magical world of Sang and her Academy boys.
