This is my partner's comic, and I hummed and haahed about reading it for a while because my partner and I have different tastes in literature. But I flicked through it a couple of times, and although at first it confused me, as I got to reading it I realised it's actually very good- and, in some ways, scarily real.
The animals on this cover remind me of Easter eggs. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
The comic is incredibly touching and heart-wrenching. Yes, there are lots of explosions and blood and gore, yes, the animals have been horribly abused. But the three animals (and, to an extent, Dr Rosemary) have an incredibly bond and they love each other so much. 1, 2 and 3 (or Bandit, Tinker and Pirate, respectively) look after each other, and they all have their own distinct personalities. I loved their varied speech, too.
I really recommend this comic. Apparently a movie is in the works, which I'm hmmmmmmm about, but this comic is brilliant and wonderful.

The only complaint I have is that this is far too short. But the story here is an interesting, emotional, short one that deals with animals being used in a disturbing way to help forward humanity. If you're made squeamish by gory violence stay away from this.
I like the raw message about animal testing, but it was too graphic for me.

strašne sa mi páčilo! príbeh domácich miláčikov, ktorí padli do rúk vojenskému priemyslu a majú byť nahradení novou výkonnejšou generáciou. super!
teared up in 688 reading this-- anyways, i wish it was a bit longer
A pet dog, A cat, and A rabbit used as prototype weapons just want to go home. They take their only chance to escape once they hear their program will be shut down and they will be terminated.
They see the world through innocent eyes while the world just wants to hunt them down and kill them; they do not entirely understand why. There is a place they know called "Home", but do not know where it is and they try to find it. They just want to live and they stop at nothing to travel together across the country to find what they are looking for, without being certain it even exists anymore.
If you have a pet, this story will hit extremely hard and there will likely be tears at the animal's monosyllabic speech patterns and their simple desire for peace, warmth, and love. It is one of Grant Morrison's more accessible stories as the art does the primary storytelling here because we are dealing with 3 animals who do not have the best ability at communication, but when they work as a team it is beautiful. This is a true love letter to animals and shows why they are important to us but also delves into the dark, depressing world of animal testing. Grant does not preach his beliefs and lets you form your own opinion from the stark lack of text. It is perhaps one of the best uses of the comics mediums where the images really, truly do the talking.
