My children (8,6, and 4) thoroughly enjoyed this as a bedtime read-aloud. They thought it was hilariously funny.
honestly, i think the mrs. piggle-wiggle books represent not only the peak of comedy, but the single most effective means of getting me to grow a conscience and to participate in what can be generally referred to as "good behavior" ever achieved in the history of the world.
never has didactic content been so entertaining. betty macdonald went off and i would reread this series in a heartbeat.
name a more iconic showdown than mrs. piggle-wiggle versus that gross kid who wouldn't take a bath.
you can't.
part of a series i'm doing in which i review books i read a long time ago

This one was not such a success with my boys. It felt a bit dated to me, but they didn't mind that. They wanted to hear more about Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle herself, including her upside down house and playing with the children. After the beginning, each of thr cures was much more entertaining for me as a mother, since each chapter showed the plight of the poor parents rather than being fun for the kids. Oh well, worth reading.
This series of books was one of my favorites when I was in early elementary school. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is a small, clever woman who has "cures" for all of the "ailments" from which children suffer, such as selfishness, refusing to put away toys, arguing, etc. As I reread this book, I realized that some of the references are outdated (not many kids know what petticoats are), but the stories are still clever and charming. I look forward to sharing this with my child.
I love Mrs. Piggle Wiggle! It has the flair that any age persn will enjo and it always brings out the kid in you. Betty MacDonald is a genius with words and has a diseas that you can relate to (no matter if you are a child or an adult.)
My boys loved this book and have now asked for more Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle. They are hilarious and easy to follow!
read w/f bomb. i read this as a kid and liked it but it was soooooo dated to read as an adult. f bomb gave it 2 stars too.
Haha...all her cures are hilarious. I think my favourite is the Tiny-Bite-Takers case. Love these books!
funny
medium-paced
This wasn't my favorite book, but my girls liked it. They thought the cures were pretty funny and that the children were behaving pretty poorly.
