4.1 AVERAGE

You can tell this was written in the 40s as the stereotypes, household hierarchy, word usage, and the fact the parents unquestioning follow the advice of a woman without children of her own. This is a cute fantasy, but the dated-ness does ruin it a bit for me. I love Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle herself, though.

I loved this book as a child. It was fun to reread, as an adult, in preparation of a granddaughter reading it!

Somewhat amusing

This is a book my mom read to me growing up, and I am reading it to my son who loves to act out and try to imagine some of the scenes. Kadan liked it. It is kind og old and some stuff I had to explain to my son like what a moving picture was and some vocabulary. But still very fun book. Who doesn't love a woman who lives in an upside down house?

I loved this as a child, but woo boy is it dated. H didn't mind though - she loved the audio book.

Did not hold up as well as I'd hoped

Mrs. Piggie-Wiggle is an old friend of mine. I must have read her stories a thousand times as a kid, and the rating above is heavily based on my love of her as a kid.

What I love about Mrs. Piggie-Wiggle: She's sly and smart, and despite her collusion with the parents, she still remains a great friend to the kids. Somehow she plays both sides without coming across as two-faced.
