I really like the premise of this book and I feel like it had a lot of potential, however the pacing really threw me off and it just wasn’t quite for me.

We follow an injured police officer who has to go back to stay with her family whilst she heals, whilst trapped in the house and trying to ensure she recovers properly she discovers connections between the deaths of 3 different people, and realised that there is someone out there targeting people who have had near death experiences, something she knows all too well.

I really enjoyed the friendships and dynamics of this story, I love the familial elements and watching how they all supported each other. There were romance sub plots that ran through it that I do wish I had seen a little more of.

I found there was a lot of time spent on the details of her rehab and the things she was doing at home, then the serial killer plot was almost a sub plot that was rushed through.

🎧 I’ve always enjoyed Nora Robert’s books and can’t believe it’s been so long since I read one - as they say so many books so little time 🤷‍♀️. This one has a unique storyline which is always a plus. It was a very slow paced listen and could have been a lot shorter as it really only got going about halfway in. The storyline was engaging but I will say the perpetrators really got on my nerves with their back and forth dialogue along. As for the other characters I really did like them and Roberts knows how to write loveable characters. You do have to prepare yourself for some major cheese ☺️ when it comes to all the different relationships. Sloan is a character I could get on board with and would definitely be interested in more reads with her featuring but the strong, independent woman persona needs to be toned down a bit as it got a little tedious. Having said that I did enjoy it but it could have been a little more condensed.
