ARC Review: Thank you so much to M.A. Wardell and Grey’s Promotions for sending me a copy to read and review.

This book was so cute and funny. This may have been Boone and Wiley’s book, but Dennis the miniature horse stole the show!

I love a good grumpy/sunshine cowboy romance! Wiley had his guard up when he arrived at Rainbow Ranch. It was so fun to watch his character development right alongside Noodles the horse.

Boone takes care of everyone on the Ranch. It was about time he had someone take care of him. This book had the perfect amount of tension between the main characters, and for it being a shorter read the tension wasn’t too drawn out.The spicy scenes between these two characters were so good! This was my first spicy romance written my a male author, and it was so well done

This book was everything I needed! It was sweet, featured hot cowboys, cozy ranch setting, and low angst in the best way. It’s the feel good, queer cowboy romance of the summer, and I adored every minute of it.

Boone is absolute sunshine, the kind of soft hearted ranch cook who heals people with soup and smiles. Wylie is a broody cowboy with one foot out the door… until Boone and his famous buns (yes, those buns 😏) convince him to stay. Their slow friendship to lovers progression is so sweet, until things heat up. And oof, do they heat up. Pick up truck spice anyone? 🥵

There’s tons of caretaking, an adorable and slightly chaotic mini horse, stargazing, and all the found family feels. I especially loved the forced proximity, only one bed, and Boone being the kind of golden retriever gay who just wants everyone to be happy, while Wylie sulks his way into falling in love.

Yes, it leaned a bit insta love, which isn’t usually my thing, but it honestly worked here. It felt intentional, tender, and full of heart.

💖 What to expect:
Sunshine ranch cook x grumpy cowboy
Forced proximity & only one bed
Queer affirming, found family goodness
Mini horse mischief
Boone’s legendary buns (interpret that how you will)
Low stakes, high feels
Sweet heat + deep care

Whether you love cowboy romances or think they aren’t your thing, this book will charm you. M.A. Wardell just gets how to write characters with softness, chemistry, and so much heart.

Giddy up and grab this gem. You won’t regret it. 🐎🌈🥣

Thank you to M.A. Wardell and Grey's Promotions for the eARC of this book.

This is a short and sweet queer romance. I love the idea of Rainbow Ranch where everyone is welcome and accepted. People can be who they are without explanation or fear. I hope to one day live in a world like that. For now, it's nice to escape there through a lovely book. Also, there's a preview of the next book in the series at the end, and pretty sure I'm going to need to read that one too!

This book is exactly what I needed in my life!!! It was so cute, and I just loved Wylie and Boone so much. Their relationship was so sweet. I loved watching them dance around each other, but then not be able to resist their undeniable attraction. They made the perfect pair!

And can we talk about the food? I wanted to eat everything that Boone cooked. The French onion soup? The cinnamon rolls? Yeah, I was so hungry after reading this.

I can’t forget to mention Dennis. That little horse was so funny. He definitely made me laugh with all of his antics.

I really loved Rainbow Ranch. I adored everything about this book! I’m so excited to read the rest of the books in this series.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions and M.A. Wardell for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review! This was my first M.A. Wardell book and it did not disappoint. I mean I don’t think you can really go wrong with a queer ranch filled with cowboys and a mischievous mini horse.

Stirring Spurs follows Boone Adams, one of the Adams siblings, who is the cook/carer out at Rainbow Ranch, known for its welcoming environment to anyone queer, questioning, or allying. Boone has always been the helpful one, always putting everyone first and making sure no one goes hungry or alone. But he’s put himself on the back burner for awhile, and everyone around him hopes that he’ll find someone who also takes care of him.
Enter rugged cowboy Wylie who is at Rainbow Ranch to help tame Noodles, one of their rescue horses. It’s just one stop of many as he navigates the life of a lonely cowboy. That is until he meets Boone, and sparks instantly fly between them. Could it be that Wylie has finally found a place to call home?

I am actually obsessed with this cheesy, loved up ranch and all the Adams siblings and of course Dennis the menace. Filled with all the cowboy twang, delicious food, and some hot and spicy moments between our cookie and cowboy.
Wylie and Boone felt like such a perfect match and I really appreciated the fact that there was no real conflict. Sure a little hesitation in the communication department but that’s to be expected with the back stories of these characters.
This was such a cute read for Pride month but also just such a heartwarming story for anyone looking to find where they belong. I cannot wait for book 2 by Clio Evans, Beau deserves his happy ending!

So firstly, thank so to Grey’s Promos and M.A. Wardell for the ARC!

Secondly, I absolutely loved this book. It was like the perfect gay country hallmark movie that I desperately need in my life. So cheesy, but oh so cute. The whole country twang the book had was just perfect, and it gave the story that southern comfort without the racism or homophobia.

Boone and Wylie’s story just had me kicking my feet and giggling because they were just so it for each other. And the 🤭🤭 scenes were just so insanely hot like, I kept clutching my pearl necklace reading that.

Overall, 10/10, 👨‍🍳💋, perfect love story with a sweet ending.

If you're looking for a sweet and swoony romance that does not hold back on the steam, then look no further!

Boone was seriously sunshine incarnate, and he balanced out the closed off grump that was Wylie. Their friendship turned romance was just so tooth achingly sweet, but when things heat up... Oof 😮‍💨🥵

I will say this did feel a bit insta-love, which I'm not usually too big of a fan of, but it really worked here.

I loved every minute of this adorable, low angst, high on the feels cowboy romance, and cannot wait for more of this series!
