The first ~250 pages of this are very slow. There’s a lot that happens in this book that requires a lot of setting up, and about 5 individual plot lines that do eventually come together to form one giant thing. It took me a little bit to get through that first but, but once you do, the book hits the ground running and you’re flying through the action with all the characters (of which there are a lot - it’s like a freaking reunion in here).

That being said, I loved it all in the end, and it made me feel like a teenager again in the best way.

The first emotion that I felt when I finished this book was relieve!!!!

I really thought it was gonna end horribly and a lot more death (well there was death but like bad people death ya know).

I enjoyed getting to see from Drus perspective a lot in here, as her being my favorite character. And her growth of feeling left out of things to realizing the way to save Emma and Julian and Alicante was magnificent. I can’t wait to see her shine even more in twp.

I need 2022 to come QUICKER!!!

Give me the Last Hours and the Wicked Powers nowwww

I did enjoy this book, the shadowhunter series is a guilty pleasure of mine since i'm not interested in the YA genre really anymore. I'm just so attached to some of the characters though so i have to keep reading! There were a lot of aspects of this book that i really enjoyed but there were a lot that i....didn't.
Spoiler As much as all the lovey-dovey character relationships make me real happy sometimes, quite a lot of the time it is so cringe omg i can't not scoff.. everyone is so dramatic! However it is YA so it's to be expected tbh. Also i really wasn't a fan of the whole Thule segment....i'm not sure why? I think it was just a bit too dystopian and i really want to see the back of that whole genre.. It did give the opportunity for really nice scenes however between Julian and Livvy etc and with Ty later, i thought all the moments to do with the Blackthorn family trying to work through their grief was really well done actually, i teared up a few times.

Overall though i did really enjoy this series and am glad everyone had their little happy endings (even if it was very 'safe') but one more thing...... fair enough Alec being elected Consul, but why on earth was Diego asked to be inquisitor?? he is like 18/19 or something?? like come on i know he is one of the good guys/friend of the main characters but like he is way too young for that job man

Whoo, this book! I honestly have no clue where to start. So many things happened in this book and in the end I even asked myself why I read +2000 pages TO GET AN OPEN ENDING? Yes some things are finally cleared out, but we got two or three major new problems. So in the end everything was peaceful again (okay not quite, but when is it ever in the Shadowworld?), but I felt a little uneasy because it's not the end. Now I can't wait until The Wicked Powers, that I initially didn't thought I would anticipate (why did I even think that, seriously?).

I won't say much about everything that happened because SO much happened, but I loved that we got to see more of Faerie and and a parallel world! I have always found those other worlds really intriguing. I also want to mention how crazy it is that Cassie finds solutions to all the problems she makes in her books haha! Every time I'm like: 'How's she going to fix this now because I have no idea.' I loved that we got to see the battle through different perspectives (actually the whole book as well), because it made it even more exciting.

About the characters: I kinda ship Dru and Jaime? I know Dru's still young and Jaime treats her differently now he knows she's still 13, but I ship it? Sorry? Sorry not sorry? I love that Cassie gave Dru the attention she deserved. I also hope to see more of her in TWP, but I don't doubt that as she has already met Ash (btw Ash was the plottwist of the year, what was that even?). I also have to admit that I don't ship Kit and Ty, but I would love them as best friends. It's so sad to see their ways part, but we all know they will get back together. Another reason why I felt uneasy and sad in the end is because all the Blackthorns ever wanted, was getting their family back together, but now they're all leaving.

One little negative remark: I didn't like Jem in the book. It was kind of irritating. How can I not like Jem? I always find it strange to see older characters return, because they don't feel the same, but for some reason I disliked Jem.

Okay this review feels messy (sorry!), but I think you get the memo: this book is amazing. GO READ IT.
