"Pinch me. Tell me this isn't a dream." - That is what I first thought when I heard that Melanie Harlow was going to co-write with Corinne Michaels. Getting to see them put their distinctive types of magic together and coming out with this magical story is what literary unicorn babies are made of.

I fell in love with London from the first page... she was so idealistic and smitten with Ian, her best friend's older brother. But then prom happened and he broke her heart for years to come, not realizing the sacrifices they both made that day.

Ian, oh Ian, how you think you know best for everyone and how wrong you are. Sabrina's older brother and troublemaker extraordinaire for the girls during high school grows up to become successful in his own right, but is missing the connection that most human's crave - love.

"Truth - Ian broke my heart. Truth - Ian is the man I've never gotten over. Fact - Ian is a selfish player who doesn't give a sh!t about me. Fact - I want to rip his clothes off and f**k his brains out."

What they never expect to have happen is tragedy bringing them back together across their backyards... yes, they live right next to each other people! (FATE, I tell you, FATE) Watching them grow, come together, and learn how to move on from the senseless loss made me cry more than a few times, because we have all made sacrifices and experienced loss, and also at the beauty of their story.

"His big, stupid, magical......." UNICORN! This was just magical and 5 stars across the charts!

Oh this story packed a punch. This was an epic co-written story by these authors and I was hard pressed to put it down at all. The raw emotions to the tragic moments made this story so stunning plus the passion was off the charts for London and Ian.
I think the one thing that I really loved about this story is the concept. It is, at least to me, a very real one that a person can be thrusted into. I love how the children help Ian open his eyes. But I broke for London so many times through the story for what she was put through by Ian. There were a lot of times I really wanted to smack him because of it. But I understand where he was coming from. He is a very flawed alpha but he thinks he is coming from the right place. I love London’s sass and how she fights him though. She masks her emotions from him fairly well too.
Overall, I absolutely adored this story and everything it gave us. A great fluid storyline, amazing characters that grow and some pretty funny but also swoon worthy moments throughout. I highly recommend picking this one up!

Assolutamente consigliato..

3.5 stars.

I really liked London and Ian. Ian is most definitely Batdad (google him, he’s hilarious). I loved his relationship with his nieces and nephew.

Got to love an angry kiss and an angry fuck. And there were a fair few episodes to satisfy me.

Airport scene to die for.

“I don’t hate you. I wish I hated you. It would make things easier, it would mean I don’t care.”

2.75 stars ⭐ I could round up the stars to 3, but it feels like a disservice to other Harlow books I enjoyed and rated around 3. I am angry at this book, I have been waiting for a romance book version of "Life as We Know It" for years. This one had all the right ingredients:
- BFF's brother
- Childhood crush to enemies to lovers
- Mutual pining
- Neighbours / close proximity potential
- Love through grief
- Stand in parenting
- Funny kids

Not to mention it was written by one of my favorite authors from this year. And it just did not deliver

Both the main characters were childish and their whole issue could've been resolved if they had just been honest and communicated. The only thing that got me through the book was the children.

This book was very cute. It was easy to listen to and quick to get through. I liked the characters and the story but I did find myself annoyed with Ian and him always pushing London away because he was doing what he thought was best for her. That was super annoying to me. I know that if he didn’t do that there wouldn’t have been a story but it just really annoyed me. The decisions of just him almost ruined multiple peoples lives. I was super happy with the ending even though I thought that it all happened pretty quickly.
