De los libros de Agatha este me ha parecido el más predecible, la trama está bien tejida pero no me ha llamado tanto la atención realmente porque estaba 90% segura de lo que iba a pasar.

Jack 'Jacko' Argyle served a short sentence before dying in prison for murdering his adopted mother. He maintained his innocence and he provided an alibi with no witness. Dr. Arthur Calgary was his alibi, but he had an accident short after meeting Jacko. He feels guilty and, after recovering his memories before the accident, he goes to Sunny Point to confess to Jack's family. However, Jacko was a problem child, and his family was satified believing he had killed the matriarch. But Dr. Calgary's testimony casts a shadow on the family; they have to face the truth, one of them killed Mrs. Argyle, and they might not stop.
Boring, boring, boring. It's really hard on me when there's no lead detective on the case. So many chapters with no purpose (to me). The only telltale was the second to last chapter. I can't understand how the other two characters figured it out.

3.5 stars. An unusual book for Christie in that it ditches her usual detectives and showcases the perspectives of everyone in the story. I’m sure I’ve read it before but didn’t remember much and was pleasantly surprised I didn’t guess the killer. A good one by Christie!
Fast read and a surprising ending. The family dynamic was interesting. I liked the different points of view.
While I don't find it possible to rate any of Christie's books that low I didn't find myself that big a fan of this one. The beginning was tedious with the repetition and hysterics seriously annoying. The second half was much better as there was more intrigue and mystery, though the end was a bit abrupt.
I think the story misses having a set detective, the multiple solvers didn't make for a cohesive book.

I am surprised that this book makes it on the list of Agatha Christie’s personal favorites. It was enjoyable, but the mystery wasn’t anything special. And what’s the deal with all the problematic commentary on adoption? Yowza. I will say though, it does make me giggle whenever there’s a random engagement at the end of a Christie novel.
