I’ve had this books on my list for some time. I wished I enjoyed it more. This was not at all a thriller nor was there much mystery. The story just kinda dragged on and the characters were super annoying.

The whole story was basically about an unhappy marriage. The husband is basically a loser who gets his licence taken away then decided to drive without said licence… causes a terrible accident in which eventually a child dies. He is a liar and cheater. His wife only cares about their house. The story then proceeds with the whole time the husband getting blackmailed into selling the beloved home. Blah blah

The ending could of been a bit better but in the end they all get fucked basically. Everything was done in vein.

This was a decently entertaining read. It did begin to drag in the middle and was a bit repetitive in parts. I also thought some of the twists were predictable

It is an interesting premise and I like the style with the switch between POV but it was so much longer than it needed to be.

Enjoyed the development and pace of the plot, though it slowed in the middle a little.
dark tense

Our House is yet another woman-in-dire-straits thriller: why do I keep reading these? In this case, I was ensnared by the unique nature of the the crime at the center of this novel: the house of our protagonist, Fiona, is stolen. Yes, her house is stolen.

Beyond the interesting premise, though, there is nothing particularly memorable or outstanding here. This is a very competently written novel--though the plot verges on the ridiculous in places and the character development, especially that of the villain, is thin. Still, it is entertaining, and even at 400 pages, it's a very quick and easy read. But it is not great. And I hated the ending. You have to read to the very final paragraphs to grasp the grave unpleasantness, but I was not at all happy; the ending left a very bad taste in my mouth.

La idea es original y me ha gustado la historia, pero no el formato en el que está escrita la novela.

El final se queda un poco a la imaginación del lector.

My partner asked me what it was about, and when I said real estate fraud he looked at me like I had two heads. But I was utterly gripped. Despite the fact that there are major crimes happening, this is a story where the tension is in the details, and the stakes feel massively personal. I also loved how self aware an examination it was of upper middle class ambition and social dynamics.

Not at all a mystery and not much of a thriller, but the ending slaps.
