A very fun, very light read that made for a nice break between heavier books. It's aimed at teens, but the wit is sharp and the pop cultural references are many, as you'd expect considering the authors.

Would be a perfect beach read. Great YA in style of SVH (as in, full of scheming and boy drama). I enjoyed it.

So, totally fallen into a YA summer, but this and it's predecessor (Spoiled) were both great. Those in the 12-14 year-old crowd = perfection. Great balance of fashion, pop-culture references, and fun writing.

This is a very enjoyable follow-up to [b:Spoiled|9415966|Spoiled|Heather Cocks|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327879074s/9415966.jpg|14300285] although I didn't find it to be quite as amusing (with the exception being all things Brick, especially his discovery that raisins in trail mix are "the silent killer"). However, I thought the story in this one was stronger and more grounded than the one in the first and the writing by Cocks and Morgan remains snappy and witty. The pop culture references in these books will immediately date them, so I am glad that I was able to snap up both and read them fairly quickly. I hope that there will be many more books in this series; there are so many fun secondary and tertiary characters to explore!

i was just checking the release date on this. i'm kind of horrified that i typed "messy cocks" into amazon without blinking.

in this companion novel to spoiled, the focus moves to max macormick, molly's green-haired best friend from the first book. unexpected circumstances find her ghost-writing brooke berlin's blog, so that brooke will be taken seriously in the business and max can earn money for an NYU writing program. but when they both fall for the same guy, max is tempted to reveal brooke's secret.

i didn't love this quite as much as i loved spoiled. about a chapter in, i could predict the whole plot and the ending. no surprises there. that said, the writing was really fun and if there's another book- say, on arugula?- i will read it too.

Always a sucker for a Cyrano de Bergerac-type of plot, and combined with The Fug Girl's humor, this was a fun (and funny) summer read.

Sometimes a cute book leads to a "meh" sequel - not this time. Rather than continuing to focus on Molly and Brooke, we spend time with Max and Brooke (I ended up liking Brooke, which was pretty good writing on the author's part!). Max was, for me, one of the more interesting parts of Spoiled, and her snark is still going strong here.

The plot is pretty mild, with a love triangle? love tangle? something like that in the the middle. Brick is as clueless as he was in the first book, mangling his words like nobody's business. And Molly? Barely a presence, which was a little disappointing.

So why only 4 stars? The "previously, in Spoiled" section didn't flow that well, and the fact that Max and Brooke were nearly joined at the hip with no one (not Arugula, not Brie, not anyone except those "in the know") noticing didn't work for me.
