This book was difficult to initially follow as an audiobook as it jumps around from characters and timelines. Seeing how each character was connect and how they all lost and found love in different ways in the end was rewarding and worth the read.

** Some spoilers ahead**

I loved this book! The characters, the setting, their demise- all of it! I've read a lot of alternating timelines lately and frankly, i'm getting sick of them, but this one worked so well! I enjoyed how all the stories intertwined and trying to figure out what was going to happen next. My heart broke for Aurelie and Max. I kept hoping that it would end differently- that somehow they somehow ended up together or that Daisy, later, would get more time with Max. I did the same for Drew and Babs, and I'm glad they did work out.

The only confusing part was one timeline is WWI and another is WWII. I listened on audiobook, so sometimes moving from one to another, especially when those timelines were back to back, I would get a little lost. But I was usually able to rewind and pick up again. A second complaint, if you will, is Precious. I feel like i'm missing part of the story. She just latched on to Babs in the beginning and she goes along with it. Then, Precious alludes to her past a lot, but we never hear more. I kept waiting to hear how Precious's lost love was intertwined with everyone, but it never came. Nor did any explanation of Precious in general, other than the reveal at the end.

I have the Glass Ocean and am reading that soon. After reading the synopsis for that, I feel like I should have read Glass Ocean first, then read this one, though it is not listed as a series.

I definitely recommend reading this book!

Well done but dragged a little in the beginning.

This is a 3 part story, and I did feel that it either could have been longer or sorry one person should have been left out. I wanted more!

In 1914 there is noblewoman Aurelie, from an illustrious line, that keeps a locket with Jean of Arc's blood as a talisman. I did want more of her story. The German's take over her castle, she falls in love with one as she knew him before the war. Though she is just as much playing him for information. It was just over so fast!

I am not sure who narrated her parts, but I liked it.

In 1942 there is Daisy, who clearly married the wrong man. I wanted more of her rise to a resistance fighter. She was so cowed, and then she was a spy.
There is also a German officer around that was also around in 1914...

Again, I do not know who narrated her either, but whoever it was did a good job with this too,.

And then in the 60s Barb goes to find out what her husband did in France during the war. Her part was fine as brief, cos looking for the past is never as interesting as being in the past. She was a good interlude. But oh Barb, I had a hard time with her. Her husband, on to be, got a letter while recuperating and she never showed it to him! So not cool. But then he could just have gone back too...

Again, whoever narrated did well.

I did like the story as a whole, they are all connected, and it is obvious how. Not one aha moment, but maybe it was meant to be like that.

And yes the earlier stories could have been longer and more fleshed out, but the thing is if they had been then the book would have been too heavy.

I did like that there were 3 distinct narrators too so that every woman got to shine in her own light.

Three women. Three time periods. Three interesting stories that are tied together in one outstanding book. This was such a amazing read!

I don't know how three authors can pen a story together, to make each of their thoughts and ideas flow together, to make a captivating story that I personally, as a reader, became so entangled in. I felt like I was living the lives of the three women in the book.

This is the first book that I have read by Williams, Willig, and White and I am super impressed by their work. This will definitely not be the last now that I have discovered their stories. I highly recommend All the Ways We Said Goodbye if you like, or love, historical fiction. This is one of the best that I have read

I found it really interesting that two of the time periods in this book were WWI and WWII, as opposed to just WWII and present day.

I love the collaboration among these three authors because you get a little bit of a different style every chapter. Telling the story of the historic Ritz hotel in Paris throughout the 1900s, this was a historical fiction winner. 4/5⭐️
.
Three different women are connected to Paris, the Ritz, and its history, though that connection doesn't come until pretty late in the book. I loved the descriptions of the hotel, the characters, and the intrigue and mystery surrounding the various wars. The World War I section dragged a bit for me, but overall it was a really intriguing, different, and enjoyable story.

I love a book that has 3 different timelines, with 3 characters' stories, you know they are going to come together, and it is like a slow mystery uncovering the clues, but it's a historical fiction novel!
