Cyborg’s Secret Baby is the 7th book in the Interstellar Brides: The Colony series. This book can easily be read as a standalone for those that are wondering.
This is Atlan Warlord Jorik and Gabriela’s story. Jorik meets Gabriela where she works. She is attacked and Jorik saves her. Only after he kills the bad guy. He is banished from Earth. She later learns that he was killed in a battle with the Hive. Now she has to raise the baby that they conceived without a father. BTW this baby is big, yikes! I need some time in the ReGen pod too!
I love Jorik and Gabriela’s story and I can’t wait to read more by this author. She really brings Humans and Aliens together. You would almost not realize that the Aliens weren’t human. Almost.

This one was okay, not a favorite of the series but not bad either. Jorik finds his mate while working at the bride processing center and has been working on wooing her for a while. Things do not go as planned and when he saves Gabriella from a robber at her job he ends up being kicked off the planet and sent to an active frontline to fight. He tries to get Gabriella to be able to come with him as his mate but since he did not give her his cuffs and she wasn't part of the system they don't listen. Then he ends up captured on the mission and held for months before escaping. Gabriella has been told he was missing in action and most likely dead so she keeps the fact she is pregnant with his baby a secret. There are a lot of obstacles that get put in front of this two and either misinformation or flat lying to keep them apart. The story was okay but not a favorite of mine in the series. It has intrigue and a little action.

Very meh. While there was some plot there, it was mostly blabber. The incapable Warden Mora from Miami had a very unsatisfying story arc that made very little sense. She potentially could have had great growth and now it was cut off at the knees making her into an unhinged villain.
Gabriella was not as interesting as author intended her to be and Jorik while actually a solid character, got to portray his good side too little (I mean, not predestined computer selection, but his choice, then holding onto his principles during Hive integration just because of her, and when all comes crashing down is the only one who doesn’t lie to himself about what’s happening). There’s only the miscommunication that’s working against him.

My favorite one so far. Absolutely loved how steadfast Jorik was and what he endures to get back to Gabriela. Their love sustains them through really hard times. Even though it hit them hard and fast, they both know it's real and rare.

È da settimane che ogni giorno si presenta alla gelateria Sweet Treats a pochi passi dal Centro.
Jorik e la sua bestia sono totalmente convinti che la ragazza dai capelli scuri e dalla pelle caffè latte sia la loro compagna.
Gabriela è lusingata dalle attenzioni dell’enorme guerriero.
In un momento di pericolo, Jorik salva la vita a Gabriela e subito dopo si abbandonano alla passione più sfrenata.
Purtroppo Jorik per non essere condannato per omicidio di secondo grado sulla terra viene immediatamente riassegnato: destinazione Corazzata Karter sparendo nel nulla e non ha avuto nemmeno il tempo per rivedere la sua compagna.
Dopo quattro settimane Gabriela scopre di essere incinta, cerca di contattare Jorik ma risulta che sia disperso in una missione contro lo Sciame.
«Noi le nostre donne le veneravamo. Le rispettavamo. Le trattavamo con la massima cura, le custodivamo… erano preziose.
Non le torturavamo né le uccidevamo in preda alla rabbia o alla gelosia. Non prendevano i loro corpi senza permesso, non le picchiavamo né le umiliavamo. Ogni bambino era preziosissimo, non importava chi fosse il padre.»
Tra tutte quante le razze aliene della Goodwin, gli Atlan sono i miei preferiti. Forti, fieri e completamente devoti alle proprie compagne fino alla fine. Prendono il “finché morte non ci separi alla lettera.
La nostra storia inizia in maniera diversa; Gabriela è una gelataia non una Sposa e Jorik non si è sottoposto a nessun test di abbinamento. Si sono trovati senza essere stati matchati da un computer. Apprezzo sempre quando si cambia l’arco narrativo, mica tutti possono iniziare alla stessa maniera no?
Il ricongiungimento tra i due su Colonia è stato straziante in quanto Gabriela pensava che Jorik fosse morto, posso solo immaginare l’emozione che ha provato quando l’ha stretto di nuovo tra le sue braccia.
Tutte le volte che Jorik interagiva con il piccolo Jori il mio cuore si scioglieva.
Consiglio questa serie? Assolutamente si.
Però c’è il classico trigger warning (qualcosa che potrebbe urtare la sensibilità) come in ogni libro della Goodwin: se non amate il linguaggio sporco e le scene erotiche frequenti e spinte, chiudete l’ebook e leggete altro.
