Do I actually hate it? I can’t tell. I hate when instead of showing us co-parenting, they
kill off the other parent! So freaking dumb
. And also, her dad does have a right to be mad they eloped. All he knew was that they stopped being friends and now they’re married without a prenup despite having large inheritances and successful family businesses. Yea they were dumb and should be yelled at for that. Idk, just seemed like the author was trying to do too much and yet not enough. She has issues in her life revolving around her weight, never resolved. He feels as if his friends abandoned him during his personal crisis, didn’t tell them anything about it or tried to reach out for support.
He’s in a custody battle, well now he gets the kid and his wife gets called mama. The kid
lost his only parents he knew and stuck with random people he’d met once
, no emotional trauma and easy transition. The two college kids never having even baby sat before, no parenting issues whatsoever.
And the author is setting up for a seventh book in this series, I promise you no one asked for it. And we did not need past characters popping up for a fun cameo, if they’re not relevant to the story we don’t need them!

So I may or may not have read this before all the other books so having all those other characters randomly brought out was a little confusing but that’s my own fault.
funny lighthearted fast-paced

I love this series and the fact that this book didn’t have pointless drama. It showed a realistic view of a young couple figuring things out together. I did forget some of the plot from previous books so having those characters brought back confused me but I loved Daire and Rosie together. Also no pointless tropes in the book.

This has got to be one of the best books I'll read this year! I have never read anything by this author before, and I wasn't really sure what I was going into but boy was this a fantastic read!
Right from the prologue you're in a state of shock, I had no clue where the story was headed, I just knew I needed to read it.
Daire finds himself in a predicament of epic proportions, and while he could have tucked tail and ran, he didn't, he stood up and accepted the consequences and for that, I really liked his character right from the beginning.
He enlists his old best friend-turned-enemy to help, because it will be easier, after the way their friendship imploded, there's no chance of feelings being involved. Rosie wants nothing to do with him, but she's such a loyal, giving soul, she agrees to help him.
What progresses from here is such a wonderfully written story of a College Senior having to grow up real quick and get his head on straight. In the beginning he is angry and frustrated, but underneath all of that, you can see the terrified boy he is, lashing out at the people trying to help, mainly Rosie.
Rosie was an absolute trooper, most of the time she simply brushed off what Daire said and reiterated that she is doing him a favour.
These two have a real hostile connection in the beginning, but you can also see the chemistry they have because of this.
Daire and Rosie quickly fall back into their old friendship and become a real team, and I love how seamless this was. Once they realised how their friendship really ended, it was like all of those years of being enemies fell away.
The way they managed and coped with everything was so good. I should also say that these two are beyond rich and do not need to do anything themselves, and I really like the fact that they are still down to earth and not pompous rich kids. Daire is adamant he wants to try and go it alone, with Rosie by his side, before he enlists the help of his family.
And boy Daire was the ultimate book boyfriend. His growth and maturity really developed quite well in this book and I loved all of his 'my wife' moments! He was such a sweetheart, despite his moments and I really felt like these two were perfect for each other.
Rosie had a really great relationship with Daire's brothers as well, but one in particular rubbed Daire the wrong way! I cannot wait to see what happens there!
This was so different from what I usually read and it was also a different take on this trope and I am totally here for it! This author is now firmly on my radar and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!
