WELL WELL WELL would you look at that another Cora flop, I mean don't get me wrong this is not as boring as [b:Twisted Cravings|43544517|Twisted Cravings (The Camorra Chronicles, #6)|Cora Reilly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1612303315l/43544517._SY75_.jpg|67736886], nowhere near as embarrassing as [b:Fragile Longing|51072371|Fragile Longing|Cora Reilly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1592825002l/51072371._SY75_.jpg|75886623] and not as pathetic as [b:Twisted Hearts|48499902|Twisted Hearts (The Camorra Chronicles, #5)|Cora Reilly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1575893511l/48499902._SY75_.jpg|67736874], but it was nowhere near on the same planet as [b:Twisted Emotions|43227562|Twisted Emotions (The Camorra Chronicles, #2)|Cora Reilly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1546879099l/43227562._SY75_.jpg|65739398] and [b:Twisted Pride|43721791|Twisted Pride (The Camorra Chronicles, #3)|Cora Reilly|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1630080242l/43721791._SY75_.jpg|65739473].

Genre: Romance (Mafia)
Date Finished: 16/01/22
Star Review (1-5): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Review: There is no way dude.. bro Maddox I thought I knew him better I thought he was supposed to be loyal to Marcella.. WHAT HAPPENED? this is not funny I actually hate cliff hangers especially since I don’t have the energy to start the second book RN aka PART 2. Honestly though I just wanted to give Marcella a massive hug the whole book she is so strong and fierce and is just adorable.. she is such a girl boss she has all men around her bowing to her and as she should she is a queen. This book was good way better than many other books in this serie or maybe I am just being biased cause I adore the daughter of Luca and Aria Vitiello, whom are the first couple in this whole serie and I adore them too. But MADDOX what did u fucking do u idiot bro.. does he realize that they won’t hesitate to kill him the next time they see him?

I love the early Camorra Chronicles, but this book just reeks of incompetence. Maddox has no principles, allowing things to go too far and blindly ignoring his own role in the club’s actions. All he had to do once he had misgivings was sneak away into the night with Marcella while everyone else is distracted or drunk. Things went way too far—it wasn’t the ear or the tattoo thing itself that bothered me, it was Maddox’s ability and absolute failure to prevent it. He has no attractive qualities. As for Marcella, I actually liked the complexity of her character. All stars for her and the dogs. But while I don’t blame her for her predicament, I don’t get why once out of the kennels she never tried once to escape. How does one born into a crime family not know how to pick a lock? Or pick up a lamp and bash one of her captors over the head? For a similar premise done better, just read Remo’s book, Twisted Pride, Sophie Lark’s Stolen Heir, or Danielle Lori’s The Darkest Temptation.

Considering that both segments of this book are short, I would have much rather this been one 600 page book.

OK so I didn't love this book BUT I liked Maddox and I really liked Marci and I'm looking forward to book 2.
I'm just going to blurt out some random thoughts I had:
I need a break from the revenge plot trope.
I know I'm in the minority but I really don't like bikers.
I love a mafia princess that embraces the mafia lifestyle.
I hope they keep Santana

came to love it….

Wasn’t much of a fan in the early stages but it’s grown on me and I’m really looking forward to the next part.

Since Twisted Cravings, I kind of wanted to give up on Cora's books but I feel a bit attached to the Camorra characters so I'm coming back for the second generation spinoff series. Though the quality of the stories are decreasing, Cora is smart to make the series so interrelated we can't help but read every one of them just because we completely love a couple in the series.

With the title of BSIR and the promise of revenge by the H for Luca's act in the past, I really hope for some thrill that had my blood pumping and my head go crazy for them but all I couldn't stop doing were cringe and rolled my eyes. At the start, we have Maddox 'Mad Dog' who's supposed to be cruel and ruthless, wanted the most horrible revenge for Luca, thus agreed to stage a kidnapping of Luca's daughter Marcella. But lo and behold, our ruthless H fall for the snow white princess at first glance and was on his knees adoring the princess since day one and dreaming of make her 'cream'. Somehow the word makes me think of ice cream and, yeah, cringe. Lol.

For a second generation spinoff, Luca still takes most of the limelight. I would prefer to have the focus on Amo's development instead of having him 'flipped' from a laidback teen to a ruthless brother without any real development. I just hope Amo and Greta's book will be better, though I really am losing hope, but I'm really looking forward to Remo and Nino's kids books so I'll probably come back to BSIR sequel as well in case there's any glimpse before Amo and Greta's book.
