This series gets better as I go along, I think because I am more invested in the characters with each book.

I always enjoy this series - it's something I would have read and devoured as a tween and love reading now as a mom. This story follows the girls through their 8th grade year as they read Daddy Long Legs by Jean Webster, an author I was unfamiliar with but now I'm anxious to check out (her books are available for free on Kindle!). The girls also get pen pals with some girls in Wyoming who have started a mother-daughter book club also.

These books are fun and light hearted, with all the coming of age plot lines you'd expect for a series like this and perhaps some you wouldn't. I'd strongly recommend the series to anyone.

Another delightful adventure for the girls in the Mother-Daughter book club. This year Jess is away at boarding school, Emma stands up for her rights, Cassidy gets used to her new and expanding family and Megan spends time with her very fashionable grandmother. All this and a trip to Wyoming to meet their pen pals in thier sister Mother-Daughter book group.

My only issue with this book was that near the end with the pen pals, I started to get confused with who was pen pals with who. Other than that I recommend this book to young girls ages 8 to 13!

I have been really loving this series, the characters are SO much fun. Each girl is so different from each other and they all have so much to offer in the book. I grew out of Middle Grade really early as a kid, but I wanted to read this series and I’m so happy I am. It’s so good.

In the third book, the girls deal with a lot of changes in their lives. Jess leaves for a fancy boarding school, Emma’s relationship with Stewart is confusing, Cassidy doesn’t want another addition to her family, Megan is getting along with her grandmother better than she has ever gotten along with her mother and Becca is still being difficult.

One of the things I love SO much about these books, is that from the book you learn about other books to read. In each book, the book club reads a book and the story has a lot of elements from the classic they are reading init.

I love how in each book the girls are getting older, you really get to know them and their families. You watch them grow up. I really love Megan’s grandma, she is a fierce woman. All of the women in this book are great role models for their daughters, it’s the perfect example of what we need parents to be like in children’s lit.

I really recommend this series to anyone looking for a fun, wholesome read!

I enjoyed the 3rd book in this series. They are relatable and I love being able to share reading time with my pre-teen daughter. I love how the series focuses on strong relationships with friends but also explores the teen angst and 'frienemies' that girls experience.

Read with Scarlett. 1p rotates among the four rising eighth-graders at the core of these novels--Jess, Cassidy, Megan, and Emma. The Concord girls become pen-pals with a group of girls in Gopher Hole, Wyoming. The novel concludes with a visit to the Wyoming contingent. This split focus weakens the narrative push.

Didn’t technically finish this one, but I would have especially loved it between the ages of 9 and 14. Very cute coming of age series that explores the many facets of girlhood and friendships through middle and high school.

Somehow I remembered less of this book than the others. Which honestly kind of made the reread more fun.
