What a treat to get into a well written book with pace and narrative and plenty of twists and turns. Myron and his partner Win are not necessarily squeaky clean but they work for good in trying to solve two murders 6 years apart which seem to be related. I really enjoyed this

My first Harlen Coben book, 2nd in the Myron Bolitar series. MB is a sports agent with a history in almost professional basketball and some secret work with the government. His best friend is a "psycho-yuppie" financial advisor. The story follows the rising star tennis player that Myron manages, and looks at past and present murders of a washed up tennis star trying to make a comeback, a senator's son, and a famous tennis coach.

It reads quickly, has some humorous descriptions and dialogue. It moves along steadily but then wraps up quickly with Bolitar tying up a lot of loose ends in the last 5% of the work, using recollections of the culprit. A little weak in that respect, but light and generally entertaining.

This is the second book in Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar series. Good book. I'll read the rest. I love the interaction between Myron and everyone else around him, including Win who is probably a psycopath and Myron's best friend. Good books.

The Philip Marlowe routine is still charming here, but some of the other carryovers from the first book wore a little thin (the unbelievably hot girlfriend, the mob guys, even the psychopath-as-Deus-ex-machina best friend). Still, the mystery is complicated and mostly tidily wrapped up. I, like a good Watson, figured out most of it juuuust before the parlor scene, so I can pat myself on the back.

The mystery was interesting, the storytelling was very good, and the humor was wonderful. I laughed out loud a few times as I listened. The reader gives a weird inflection to the speech of Myron's friend, Win, which I didn't really like, but other than that it was a great read, passed road time very quickly.

Good book, love the humour in his novels especially the character of Myron Bolitar and the obsession with Yoo-Hoo's!

We enjoyed the funny, snarky Myron Bolitar in this second book just as much as the first. This installment focuses on the world of tennis. Myron has a hotshot young client, Duane Richwood, who is expected to do very well in the U.S. Open. Valerie Simpson, a washed-up tennis star looking to make a comeback, ends up murdered at the Open and Duane is a suspect. Myron, along with Win and Esperanza, starts investigating the case, uncovering all sorts of troubling secrets. These books are very entertaining, and Marosz does a great job with the narration.
