This series is starting to grow on me now that there is a straightforward plot. It is good to see some really scary vampires around!

Fantastic, just like the first. Although, I do have to say, I enjoyed the first one better, possibly because Scott Snyder is a good author, but Stephen King is a little bit better. I am still having this in my pull at the Vault, and will read it as it comes out. (I don't do this with very many comics.)

I love finally seeing scary vampires again. It's so rare that Vampires are scary creatures in most stories now a days. The concept is so wonderful and I love getting immersed in the series. The artwork is inspired. OK... I'm basically fangirl-ing all over this review but I just love this series. Pearl is a great character and I always want to know more about her and Henry. Skinner is just as deranged as usual. Its a great contrast. :)

Another great volume to the American Vampire saga. The mythology expands with the introduction of The Vassals of the Morning Star.

The same cast of characters appear with Skinner Sweet, Pearl Jones, and Henry Preston. An old "friend" makes an appearance in the second story arc (I won't ruin it for anyone).

I can't wait for next volume as we move into the 1490s and World War II.

This was loads of fun. I love the art, and the stories offered some nice worldbuilding, although I didn't think the storyline was strong as in the first collection.

Really enjoyed this. Didn't realize it was the second volume but it didn't matter - you don't need to read the first one for it to make sense, which was nice.

How had I never heard about it before? Vampires, noir - it's right up my alley. I happened to find a copy by the recyling bin, pages falling out, and thought, heck, I'll give it a read before it gets recycled. Got sucked in immediately. Classic noir mixed with gothic elements and an engaging story. Never got too gross-out shocking or violent, which I appreciated, but it did toe the line at points.

I've ordered Volume 1 now since I enjoyed this one so much. Good stuff, I'm glad I stumbled across it.
