Enjoyed this quick read. Two main things that stuck with me -

At some point Carrie says a psychiatrist told her once that it's important to distinguish between true problems and inconveniences. She says that really she's only ever had 3 major problems in her life:
substance abuse, the friend who died in his sleep while they were sharing a bed, and manic-depression
. Maybe it sounds simple but to me it was a helpful way to reframe thinking about my own life. What is a true PROBLEM and what it just uncomfortable/painful/difficult to deal with right now?

She also says "if you have the expectation that you're going to be happy throughout your life - more to the point, if you have a need to be comfortable all the time - well, among other things, you have the makings of a classic drug addict or alcoholic." Similar to the above... just a good reminder that no one can be happy all the time, all day, every day, maybe even most days.

I am a self proclaimed Carrie Fisher devotee, and as always I am enamored on how clearly and wittily she articulates experiencing a life colored by mental illness. She finds relatability in the truly unrelatable nature of her life. And honestly, I too think the best way to go would be drowned in moonlight, strangled by my own bra. I’m glad Princess Leia led me to her, but I’m gladder still for the presence, wit, humor, and intelligence Carrie Fisher brought to everything she did. Read this book!
