I read this as a class novel when I was teaching and enjoyed it so so so much! Such a happy, easy going story with lovable characters and a lovely message. I had multiple kids buy the book and re-read it themselves it was so loved!
Cannot recommend it enough!

A nicely written adventure following Lucy as she wakes up to discover all of the grown ups gone and things creaking about under her bed.

Adventurous and humorous, though I found the humour a little forced or unnecessary at times, which put me off whilst I was reading. It felt a little try hard, and I was reminded of the likes of Roald Dahl, but the inherent genius just wasn't there.

I also wasn't particularly convinced that Lucy and her friends were six years old, but I enjoyed the whole package the children that have their own little Lord of the Flies moments.

It's a nice book that I don't doubt children will enjoy, and there is some enjoyment for adults as well, which is my primary concern. The illustrations absolutely made this book, however, as they brought it to life way beyond what was written on the pages.

Lucy is a brilliantly written character and the plot is a wonderful moral lesson for children! Well done Tom Fletcher!

OhMyGoodness! I love this book sooo much. I listened to the audiobook and the narrator is absolutely perfect.

I have seen many reviews that say things like 'this book isn't good. All of the high reviews come from the McFly fans'. Well, let me tell you that I just had to Google what McFly was, so these statements are completely invalid.

I really, really surprised by this story and it has become one of my favourites of the year.

The plot of this story was so unique and interesting that it instantly had me hooked. It follows Lucy who is trying to get the grown-ups back after they have gone missing. The plot reminds me a lot of the TV show The Sparticle Mysteries, which made me feel really nostalgic the entire time that I was reading it.

I loved how the characters developed and grew throughout the story and I also love how each character is so different.
I love the character of Lucy. I feel that she is a really complex character and I love the way that she reacts with the narrator of the story. I found this so interesting and sweet. I also really like the way that Lucy handles the situation.

I also think that Ella is such an interesting character. I feel that her development is the strongest and you get to see how she stays true to herself, but also matures a bit. I love some of her one liners that she has - they are so funny! They literally made me laugh at times.

I really also love the characters of Guff, Grunt, Scratch and Sniff. I love how they are all so different. I also especially love Sniff. He was so cute. I also love finding out more about thee Woleb and the Creakers' back story.

However, my favourite character was Norman. I feel like he's going to be really inspirational to the kids who read this book because he does the things that he likes regardless of what other people think of him and the fact that it's not cool. I also kind of relate to him a lot. Also that bit at the end... when he's on about the friendship patch... MY HEART MELTED! I just think that Norman is just a sweet bean!

But, my favourite part of this book was definitely the writing! I love Tom Fletcher's style of writing and the way that he describes things. The writing was really easy to follow and create imagery.

I am so excited to read more books by Tom Fletcher and I am shook that it took me so long to discover his books.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely! This book is so fun - for people young and old alike!

I love how Tom Fletcher creates an imaginary world with such a positive message and attitude for kids. We need more of his works! I loved the idea of adults disappearing from the world for awhile and the kids being left on their owns to create a chaotic funny world. I loved how Lucy is the responsible one and the heroin of the book. The appearance of William Trundel and Brenda of Christmasaurus was brilliant.
Lucy showing mercy to the Creakers was what I needed to love this book. At the end she teaches a lesson that every creature has the right to live and we humans cannot destroy another world because it is not ours to live in. Cute story with an attitude and a brilliant message.
