Asunder was a great follow-up to Incarnate, it really felt more focused. It was very clear from the beginning what the questions were that Ana wanted answered. I also really felt like the romance moved at a realistic pace, and it was wonderful because it never felt rushed.

Ana really grew into her own in this book, she began to realize that she had always deserved to have friends and a love of her own. It was difficult for her to come to that realization because her mother was so awful to her. I really liked that she became able to even stand up to Sam, it really wasn’t much but she became less afraid of expressing her opinion.

I even liked the drama with Stef, I saw it coming, but still I’m glad it was there. It was very obvious from the beginning about how she felt about Sam. It was good addition to the story because it does matter after 5,000 years. I did love how tenacious Ana was in this book. She was not going to rest until she figured it out.

I loved that there was the revelation in this book, and most of the questions were answered. I was heartbroken that Cris had to sacrifice himself, but I think what they gained was incredibly important. It was terrible what they found out, but I think the reaction of the rest of the old souls was just as bad. I can’t believe that they didn’t take into account their memories being tampered with. There were lots of justifications to keeping her in Heart.

This was a great follow up and really set the stage for the third and final book. I would give this 5 out of 5 stars because it sucked me in, and answered many questions and left me with even more!

This was a solid sequel to Incarnate and I really enjoyed it!

Asunder picks up not too long after the events of Incarnate and I really liked where this book took the story. Character wise, I love Ana! She is at such a disadvantage compared to everyone else, but she is so strong and doesn’t let her lack of experience affect her. She fights for what she believes in, the protection of Newsouls, and she became a leader. Also, her relationship with Sam was so cute and a lot more developed compared to during Incarnate. The two of them together are so enjoyable and Sam is a lovable sweetheart.

One thing that Jodi Meadows has really succeeded with in this novel is the amazing world. I said it in my review for Incarnate and I’ll say it again, this world in so interesting! It is so intriguing and as the story has gone on, the world has become more and more developed and so many questioned have been answered. The thing that was really focused on in this book was the world’s history. We learned why people reincarnate and how it all came to be and it was so good (or bad, depending how you look at it...).

Overall, I really enjoyed this book! This story is so entertaining and I love the characters and world! It was a really good sequel and I can’t wait to finish the trilogy.

I was lucky enough to get Incarnate as an ARC last year, and once I finished I knew waiting for the sequel would be torture. Unfortunately, Asunder came right in the middle of a busy school year, so when I finally had the time to pick it up, I devoured it. Asunder is probably ten times better than Incarnate and I am pretty positive that the next installment will be ten times better than Asunder. Not only are there fantastic new characters, but our old favorites are changing in the best of ways. Even the writing style has become more poetic and graceful, flowing together without leaving plot holes and questions unanswered. I absolutely adored Asunder and I can't believe I have to wait another year for the final book!

I really loved Ana's character development in Asunder, she seems like she's got a lot more confidence and a new backbone which I so loved and she so needed. She actually stands up to Sam and Stef and the council members on more than one occasion, and I just wanted to cheer for her the whole time. Even Sam shows his less confident side, breaking down and proving he doesn't know everything. We're introduced to some new characters who really added a new depth to Heart and Ana's world and I'm looking forward to learning more about them and how they have contributed to Heart and Range in their past lives.

The story lines from Incarnate are continued and there are plenty of new and crazy revelations that totally blew me away. We learn more about all the creatures living in Range, as well as where Ana came from and what will happen to her. Jodi's writing style is still beautiful and elegant, if not more so than before. The different plot points also connected together better in Asunder which helped the story flow more smoothly. The descriptive way that Jodi created this world is fantastic, I felt like I was truly there, standing in the town center, or with Ana in the tower. I could always vividly picture whatever scene was being painted in my head and that really hooked me into the story.

Just like last time, I completely fell in love with Jodi's story. I'm falling more in love with Ana and Sam and I love that questions are getting answered while others are arising. The world-building is going a little deeper and I'm really looking forward to the way everything will be wrapped up. Plus, there is tons of kissing!! If you loved Incarnate, you'll love Asunder even more and if you haven't started this fantastical series yet, you really need to. There are dragons! Fans of fantasy, soft sci fi, and romance will love this one!

I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed at the beginning. I absolutely loved the first one from the start, and was confused that the beginning of this one was not giving me the same feeling...then it happened, I could not read fast enough about 1/4 of the way in, from then on I fell in love again. With the writing, the imagery and the story line.

I really liked the ending of the book, tears and all. I am looking forward to continuing on the journey of Ana and Sam and finding out where all these unanswered questions take them.

Read it!

That ladies and gentlemen is how you write a sequel! I loved absolutely every minute of it! I was a little skeptical as to how this was going to work as a series, but Jodi Meadows knocked it out of the park. We got answers! And Ana just became so much more cooler.
One of things I always loved about these books is that yes, Ana, sometimes cries and needs Sam to rescue her, but then 100 pages later the opposite will happen where Ana is the one saving Sam. I cannot wait to read the next book and see how everything wraps up!!

Asunder was an amazing sequel to Incarnate! The second book of this Trilogy. Many questions were answered and for ever question answered, five more came. This stunning book was amazing all the way through. So much happened! It is wonderful! I cannot wait for the third and final book, Infinite, to be published!

The concept of this series I continue to find very intriguing, and the end of this book (the second in a trilogy, of course) ends with quite a cliffhanger! But what I enjoy the most is all of the questions that the book addresses through the main characters, which tend to be exactly what I myself am curious about. So many questions arise in a society built upon reincarnation, at the birth of a "newsoul" who hasn't lived before. But the most important question that this series raises is this: how much are humans willing to sacrifice in exchange for not having to fear death?

Again, with beautiful writing and a great expansion building on top of the plot line- I'm excited to read what is to come. It was little sad... I didn't quite like the romance between Ana and Sam as much, and Stef annoyed the crap out of me, but it kept my attention pretty well, and I was very much into this book.

Overall, a good sequel to the series.

As before, Ana's tale with Sam and the whole town of Heart is a complete rush! It's experiencing all the new things Ana is but also living through her frustrations at being new. She doesn't have 5000 years experience with everyone, so she's left floundering at knowing glances and exchange short conversations laced with so much history - but no one will tell her.

But this story got a little fuzzier for me. it's getting confusing - I'm not sure if it's because it's been a little while since I read the first one - but the chains, new creatures and discussions about knives, symbols, spiral reading ....it all got a little overwhelming just past 1/2 way as I tried to understand what was happening and why.

But, this was an incredible journey to take with Ana again. I'm anxious to see what's next.

And honestly, Sam, lose the honor stuff already. She's old enough ;)
