“That sort of kindness, it gets into your bones. Once you’ve felt it, you can’t help but look for ways to pass the feeling on” - Beth O’Leary

➕ Multiple Overlapping Storylines, Unpredictable, Loveable Characters, Fun Easy Read
➖ A little more love/more Jane

This book was not what I expected- I saw in a review that it was best to go into this book not knowing a lot about the plot, which I did but I still struggled to connect with it. It’s not the cute romance the cover makes it out to be. It’s pretty emotional and deals with some heavy stuff.

I get what she was trying to do with the multiple time lines but instead of connecting with the characters I just spent most of the book trying to figure out if this guy was a cheater. Then I thought maybe he’s not end-game, he’s just how these 3 women are connected and we’ll get to see each of them find their right person- nope(ish). I just feel like this book shouldn’t be classified as a romance even though there is a HEA. If you spend the entire book thinking this guy is a pig, it’s hard to care about the twist and to be happy for him in the end.

This was a super unexpected good read. I went into reading it without knowing a single thing about the plot and was very turned off when I realized each of the women was dating the same man. However, there is much more to the picture than what meets the eye and it all wraps together so well and in such a sweet and heartfelt way. It was emotional and lovely all at once.

This book is so much more than what meets the eye. The description sounds like it might venture into "John Tucker Must Die" territory where all three women discover they're all dating the same man and seek revenge. However, this novel goes into the complete opposite direction. It's difficult to describe what went on without giving away any spoilers!!

This novel was almost like a romance mystery - it's definitely a romance at heart but you're constantly trying to piece together the timing of everything and what exactly is going on, making it sort of a mystery too. By far, I found the most endearing characters to be Jane and Siobahn. They are both so broken from past relationships and for a long time are almost punishing themselves by not opening up to Joseph. I can't comment specifically on how both girls are connected and their respective endings in the book but they are both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Please don't go into this book expecting a typical romance. It is structured much differently and the characters, in my opinion, are much more fleshed out. Do be aware of some content warnings though (death, grief, sexual harassment).
