There wasn't a lot that I enjoyed about Count Your Lucky Stars, if I'm being really honest. Both of the protagonists were pretty unlikable, lacked basic communication skills, and weren't very mature for adults. I wanted them to just talk with one another about the awkward situation they went through in high school… that, by the way, could've been not at all awkward if they'd just talked then, but… they kept avoiding it and avoiding it until the weirdest possible moment.
When they finally did talk? I had this moment of "AWW yay - they're cute and happy now." But what happened next? I'm not even talking a third act break-up. I'm talking WITHIN THE SAME SCENE, the conversation went from them discussing their past and deciding to be together long-term to a massive argument for no real reason aside from a lack of faith in someone's parent???
Truly, I just wanted both of them to take a breather and look at the big picture like 30x throughout the story. I couldn't help but find myself getting frustrated over and over again. It could've been cute. It really could've been. But this one fell so flat for me.

I liked the initial set up, young wedding planner gets her big break arranging a huge wedding last minute just to find out that her childhood friend and one that got away is the best woman for the wedding.
I feel like this concept wasn't really utilised to its fullest - especially when another big trope
They are cute together and have a lot of chemistry but I felt pretty let down overall by this one. Communication is an issue the whole way through. Personally, I didn't enjoy the way things were hashed out.
There was also A LOT of the couples from the last two books. They had in jokes I didn't get most of the way through. Also, because they were the protagonists of the previous books they're just so perfect and happy that it felt a bit dull.
Olivia didn't have any friends. Her coworkers are only shown at the very beginning (and huge missed opportunity in my opinion) abd the only other people she really communicates with are her ex-husband and dad.
I really didn't like the 3rd act conflict. I found both the characters annoying through it.
For me this didn't have nearly enough pining.
Also...we don't even get to see the wedding.

This had so many tropes I love: childhood best friends to lovers, reunions, roommates, second chance romances. So I knew I'd probably love it and I did.
The writing style was great, the sex scenes were very hot, and the chemistry between the characters were great!
I will definitely be keeping an eye out for more sapphic Alexandria Bellefleur books in the future.
My only warning would be for frequent mentions of past toxic hetero relationship with mentions of cheating, some emotional abuse, and other forms of toxicity.

I really enjoyed this book though. I absolutely breezed through it.
I loved getting to know more about Margot as a person rather than her just being Elle's friend. She's the last one in the friendship group to be single so obviously she's third-wheeling it a lot. Then in comes Olivia ...
I liked Olivia and Margot's relationship from the start - the awkwardness of meeting again after 11 years followed by moving in together after Olivia's apartment disaster, I mean what's the worst that could happen!
I do like the friendship between Margot, Brendon, Darcy and Elle but I would've liked it to be focused a lot more on Margot than the others. It felt more like a general book about all these characters rather than a Margot-centric book.
I hate Luke and Brad. I understand why Brad was mentioned but his relationship with Olivia was just toxic and the fact that Olivia was allowing it really annoyed me. Luke was completely unneccesary.
Overall, this was a great end to the series though I have to say that WRITTEN IN THE STARS is my favourite.

Count Your Lucky Stars is the finale in the Written in the Stars trilogy. This time we're focusing on Margot and her ex best friend, Olivia. When the two reunite after ten years, it's almost as if the stars have aligned. Olivia is the new wedding planner for Annie and Brendan, and when she gets the awful news that her apartment has flooded, Margot offers her spare room. The two begin to grow closer again and maybe they'll finally get some closure over what happened last time.
I love this series so much. Every book got better for me and I fell even more deeply in love with all these characters! Margot and Olivia are both dealing with fears that felt so realistic to me. I related a lot to both of them. I love their personalities and how well they complemented each other. Plus seeing Olivia pulled into the friend ground was soo cute!
There's also a cat in this one and I am a fan. Agh I wish this series was over. I loved the astrology and the romance and everything. I'm definitely going to miss these characters!

This book was...fine. I was determined to see it through to the end, but it was less because I cared about the story and more because I knew it wouldn't take me that long and I might as well do it. The pacing was all over the place, and the characters' turmoil was either boringly repetitive or instantly resolved, no in between. So much of the plot felt contrived, and there wasn't enough charm in the rest of the narrative to let me suspend my disbelief, as is often the case with other romance novels.
I preferred Bellefleur's other sapphic romance, Written in the Stars, and I can't quite pinpoint why. Both had similar arcs, but Count Your Lucky Stars was too all over the place for me.
