Pretty disappointed. The 2nd book had a predictable ending and was not as good as the first, but the first was so good, I let it slide. But this book is essentially a repeat of second, but this time they’re on an adventure quest introducing TONS of new worlds at a breakneck speed that I couldn’t keep track of them all individually when the quest gang returned to the mainland.  Overall, it was the same formula, same cliffhanger ending, same repetitive descriptions of the spicy scenes and romance. Obviously, if we’ve all invested in the first 2 books, we’re gonna read the 3rd, and probably the remaining 2, but… meh.

Look, I’m annoyed at how much I like this series. I got it bc dragons. I hate the “spicy” scenes - I’m not here for that. But there’s actually a great story under all this. I’m also annoyed bc now I have to wait til next year for the next one.

Loved it!!! Perfect mix of action/war/thriller, with love and romance, and mystery!

Onyx Storm is probably my least favorite of the series so far, but only because it felt unnecessarily long at times - which was also an issue in Iron Flame. Because the world has been expanded so much, and so fast, I’ve had a hard time keeping all the information straight, whether that was who each God was and what Isle worshipped which or who’s dragon was bonded to whom and who had what signet(s) (although the infographic at the beginning helped for some people). I also had trouble remembering who some characters were at times when they hadn’t been mentioned often.

That being said, I still loved this book. I really enjoyed seeing so many characters grow and seeing the world expanded. My only regret is not waiting to read the series until the series was completed because that ending was just WOW.

I almost DNF this book, but it started to get pretty okay after about the 60% mark. Before that, if Libby had given me another book I'd have dropped this one. I was really annoyed by the main couple's interactions and CONSTANT descriptions of how hot the dude is and how desperate they are to get down (but they really shouldn't, <swoon/barf>). It was getting wildly corny and annoying. There is some expansion of the scope of the world in the second half, more action with the squad (characters I do actually enjoy), and some peril.

Loved this as I did the others. It was a little slow to start with the political negotiations that went on but certainly picked up the pace.

It was definitely a rollercoaster of emotions and that ending..... I need to know more.....
