Read this over the holiday weekend while hanging out at the family cabin. No internet. No television (it only gets one channel). Perfect weekend to read some vacation fluff, which this was. Completely predictable but I liked her Shopaholic series and I found this for super cheap at a book sale so it was the perfect chick lit non-serious read I was looking for.

I found it so hard to get into this book, mostly, I think, because Candice was such an unlikeable and unrealistic character. I could almost go along with Roxanne's and Maggie's story lines, but Candice's relationship with Heather just drove me insane. Unfortunately, I didn't even think the book was that witty or funny. Had I not been reading it for a book club, this may have been an easy book to put down and walk away from.

I bought this book on tape (my first time doing this EVER), and found myself not wanted to leave the car in order to hear what happened next! Great light summer book.

I had a strong sense of déjà vu reading this book, and I am pretty certain I have read it before.

I can’t say I really had a favorite character.

I am a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella, but her Madeleine Wickham books aren’t as much my favorite.
Some of the themes in this book just didn’t resonate well with me: cheating, drinking while pregnant etc. The author is great at writing, but this is not one of my favorite books of hers.

I was so excited to read this book because of Sophie Kinsella. So much so that I kept saving this book for feel-happy read. But it was so so disappointing. Hard to believe Sophie wrote such a novel. Candice is such a worst character that you don't feel pity for her. Hope none of the other books written under Madeleine Wickham are such failures :( Also, absolutely loathe it whe authors keep switching the POVs.

Liked the characters and their separate story lines, but wished there was more interaction between the characters. Good quick chick lit read!

ETA 11/2017: I read it again. I didn't realize I read this seven years ago. I didn't remember a single thing from before!! There was NO familiarity! I'd give it the same rating and the same review as before. I liked it, but it wasn't enough.

Again, I just don't seem to enjoy the books by Madeleine Wickham nearly as much as I enjoy her books when she writes under the name of Sophie Kinsella. Hmmmm. This Wickham book was a little better than some of the others I have read. There still isn't the wit and lovable characters of a Kinsella book. This particular story focused on three main characters and while I actually liked each character, I felt like we only scratched the surface of what we could have learned about each one of them. We never got to know them enough to fall in love with them. There could have been so much more. So this was a light and easy read, but not as much fun as I would have liked.

Cheesy, but super cute! It's a totally easy read.

spiritoso e divertente anche se si vede che la Kinsella non era ancora nella sua forma migliore!

Nice feel good story. Ideal as an audiobook while doing physical work, as it's not so bad if you miss a couple of minutes of the story.
