This book is such a fun, flirty rom-com with plenty of spice and all the swoony feels! The Virgin Next Door is light-hearted, sexy, and full of witty banter that kept me grinning like a fool.
What I Loved:
- Veronica: She’s relatable, smart, and unapologetically sex-positive. Her side gig as a spicy columnist adds so much humor and depth to her character. Watching her navigate the chaos after “the email incident” is both hilarious and heartwarming.
- Milo: Total dreamboat. A hot, nerdy florist-slash-bike-shop-owner with a soft heart and swoon-worthy charm? Yes, please! His chemistry with Veronica is off the charts, and I loved how supportive and sweet he is.
- The setup: A mistaken-identity crush that turns into a boss-employee dynamic? Yes, it's a bit tropey, but Lauren Blakely makes it fresh and fun.
- The pets! Hot Stuff the cat and the pups absolutely steal the show. Their antics add so much charm to the story.
Favorite Moments:
- The glitter scene—pure chaos and laughter!
- Veronica’s Virgin Club column—it’s hilarious, bold, and so empowering.
- Their text banter—it’s clever, flirty, and made me smile nonstop.
Why It’s 4 Stars:
The book is light and fun, but the pacing felt a little slow in the beginning. Once the story found its rhythm, though, I couldn’t put it down.
Final Thoughts:
If you’re into steamy rom-coms with a side of adorable pets and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, The Virgin Next Door is a perfect pick. Milo and Veronica’s sizzling connection and heartfelt journey will leave you smiling for days. Definitely a win for rom-com fans!

A solid 3.75. Our FMC, Veronica, is a smart and witty columnist, waiting for the right time and person to present her V card to. She used to edit children's books until she mistakenly sent a steamy, raunchy 🥵 email to the whole company. 👀 can her little mishaps push in the direction she needs to?
I wasn't a fan of the 0️⃣ to 💯. It was just too much too fast. But I am more of a slow burn kind of reader. I'm also skeptical in that you can't go from knowing nothing to knowing everything.
With that being said, it was a good story with comedy, cunnilingus🔥, a list of where and how, and pets.🐾 It was a great read for the month of love.

What a fun read that was! You could say “this is a feel-good book extraordinaire!” Things I adore about a LB novel are her upbeat characters, they always make me feel happy. They may have issues going on and their life can be in a bit of a mess but they pick themselves up and do better. Their friend group are supportive and loyal and have a great time together. It’s a world I’d visit in a heart beat.
If you love strong and intelligent heroines, you will love Veronica Valentine. She’s a children's book editor by day and a columnist as her side gig - writing on what she knows best, chronicles of being a virgin. She may be twenty six, but she knows her own body, loves it too! And she knows what she wants in a partner to make her a virgin alumni. I appreciate that she’s wanted to know herself before sharing it, and she’s been picky on who that person should be. So when she meets Milo Dawson, the puzzle pieces are fitting nicely for them. Veronica has a very specific list she’d like to try with Milo, who’s happy to oblige.
I’m a gal that doesn’t need over dramatic romances, I prefer something that is more authentic and realistic with some good laughs. The things that cause this couple their obstacles aren’t over the top, nor dragged out. They both have the cutest dogs who enjoy being around their owners at all times. This story made me smile so many times with Veronica and Milo’s big, wild, messy, happy, glittery love.

What did I just read and who, upon seeing this author's inability to produce a single normal name that is not A Fucked Up Series Of Uppercase Words, edited and approved this book?!
