I didn't know what to expect ! The story started with a bang and i didn't mind at all, also the story itself was interesting . I mean the hero of the story wanted to kill the heroine with in the first chapter. All the twists and turns are making me anxious for the next book,
What a roller coaster! From the opening pages, Touch is an adrenaline-packed thrill ride, with twists and turns certain to keep you guessing!
Dez is exactly the type of heroine I love to read about! She's strong and independent and tough-as-nails, unwilling to back down from anyone or anything in the face of what she knows is right. She experiences gut-wrenchingly painful moments where we get to see a softer side, one where she's afraid to be hurt by allowing string to become attached. I did find that there were a few decisions she made that left me scratching my head, as she seemed to believe something too quickly, or make (what I thought was) the worst decision possible. But feeling like her father wished she hadn't been born, and having her heart recently-ish broken by her first love, it's easy to see why she laughs in the face of danger, and does the exact opposite of whatever her father asks - including running away with Kale.
I adored Kale. His fascination with trivial objects and the joy he got from seemingly mundane experiences was so endearing, it was impossible not to fall in love with him. His innocence makes his tender moments that much sweeter and his moments of anger all that more frightening. His impact on Dez was immediate, and her reactions to someone as unique and intriguing as Kale were believable because of it. His ignorance of social customs and everyday trivialities that we take for granted had me laughing out loud in several spots. I kind of wish we had gotten to see more of Kale, as there were big chunks of plot without him in it, and I would have loved to hear more about his life in Denazen and what kind of torture he underwent.
Denazen Corporation is twisted and sick and scared me to death; if a new "race" were to be born with special abilities, it's not far-fetched to believe that a government organization would be willing to sacrifice their freedom for the "protection of society". I loved that the Sixes who were slightly more pliable were raised/taught to believe that they were like superheroes, fighting for the common good; this just added another layer of credibility to the world that Accardo was building. If I wanted to control people with powers, what better way to do it then to convince them that what they were doing wasn't evil?
I did find that towards the end the pacing became too scattered and too quick. I got confused during the big stand-off between Denazen and the Sixes as to which Sixes belonged to which team, and I had to re-read the last part a couple of times to get everything straight. I also felt like several clues were dropped towards the end, but they either weren't capitalized on, or weren't mentioned again which left me wondering why they had been mentioned at all. For the most part though, I was able to overlook these faults because I did enjoy the rest of what Touch has to offer so much.

I devoured this book in a single night, refusing to put it down. I instantly connected with the story and characters.
When we meet Dez, our main character, she's kind of floating through life, no plans, no goals except one... do whatever she can to piss of her dad. She has it down to a science.
Enter Kale. I love the way he is written. Kale literally runs into Dez while she's on her way home and he demands her shoes. Kale is a Six, and I won't spill what that means here, but think... x-men. He's been sheltered his entire life and so everything he experiences with Dez is new and different.
I loved the dialogue in this book - Dez is witty and sharp, she isn't your typical high school girl.
One of my favorite parts:
"I backed us up against the wall. “How I feel? You want to know?” I ran my hands over his face and tangled them into his messy hair. “This is unlike anything else. I’ve bungeed off buildings, I’ve skateboarded off roofs. I’ve even gone train surfing. Nothing comes close to the high I feel when I’m with you. You’ve been through horrible things, and yet you’re one of the kindest, truest people I’ve ever met. At first I thought it was because you were safe. I could feel something for you because you couldn’t hurt me. Not the way Alex did. But it’s more than that. It’s you. Who you are. The way you are. Everything from your smile to the way you always say exactly what’s on your mind. Your soul, Kale."
I found this book scouring the new titles in Goodreads and I'm incredibly happy that I did- I can't wait for the next book in the series. Can I also say that I was so happy that this story didn't leave me hanging with a huge cliffy? That's one of my biggest pet peeves with series books and this one wrapped up quite nicely, leading into the next... Definitely recommend this book for a quick and intriguing read.

I had received an email from Cathy over at Entangled asking if I wouldn’t mind reviewing a new book by a debut author called Touch. “No problem” I said. I actually had added this book to my “I want to read” list anyway. So, when the book came over, I thought..why not? I will just read the first chapter. (Which is a really bad habit that I have!!! I love to read the first chapter and get a feel for a book to see if it grabs my attention!) From there, I was hooked! My other book got tossed to the side and my life was consumed by sixes and Danazen!
This book is full of action, drama and best of all the romance left me sighing! Just look at the cover, Kale is a hotty!
Deznee is a wonderful leading female whom is beautiful, brave and not at all shy. Kale is an interesting male lead also. He is dangerous, a little quirky, but totally swoonworthy! At first, I was not so sure about their relationship and really could not see Dez falling for him, but thought that maybe he could be more of a brother to her. But then, I finally got it!
Curd snickered. “If you were in her bed, I certainly hope you weren’t touching yourself.”
He turned to me, right eyebrow cocked. “Is he special?”
I enjoyed the patience that Dez had with Kale while he was learning all about the world. I also enjoyed Alex and really had a hard time deciding whom I would rather see Dez with. The ending of the book clinched it for me though.
The storyline was amazing and uncommon. It was sort of like X-Men. It was interesting to read about the different characters and all of the different abilities they each had.
This was an incredible read and one that everyone should mark on their to-read list!

Plenty of people have written what's on my mind when it comes to this book.So I'll try and make this quick.
I wasn't expecting great life changing literature. I knew I'd be in an awkward situation today (Yeah Passover) and I wanted something nice and entertaining to read. That's about what I got so I can not really complain. That's not going to stop me.
The plot is weak. It's a series of unrelated events. Things just happen with no logic behind them. It's so predictable. Of course, there's also insta love and an attempt at a love triangle. Lovely young adult.
The characters are ok, I guess. I liked how Kale was written. Dez was ok. I didn't really connect with her. She felt forced, like the author was trying too hard to make her quirky, cute, and rebellious. Not my type of character. Pretty flat too.
I recommend this book for entertainment. It's cute and doesn't really require much thinking. Next to some of the other books in the paranormal romance ya world it's pretty good.

I enjoyed most of this story.
Until I read the last 15%, it was a four-star novel for me. It was funny and sweet and unexpected, things I love in fiction. But inconsistencies in talents or powers, and failures to anticipate in supposedly smart characters? These things are unforgivable. While it didn't kill my admiration for what preceded, it has to be factored in.
The fifth star was never an option -- there is nearly all telling of internal dialog, very little showing. This means many more words than should have been needed. It's sloppy writing.
Overall, kinda glad I read it. Really wish it had followed through on promises.

I must say that I have read books set in similar worlds, where the kids with special powers are all in an evil institution, they rebel, the institution or the government are tracking them down etc. It has all been done before. But I did like this book. I thought the characters were well done and I really liked the POV character Dez. I thought she was spunky and fun and I liked her interactions with Kale. All in all quite enjoyable
I liked it well enough. A little too much of a filter between the action & me for me to be fully drawn in (too many MC opinions), but not too shabby.
