This was recommended for me by BOTM as my February pick, but I saw the #WTFThatEnding and rolled my eyes a bit. I'm definitely a sucker for a good mystery, but it felt like it was going in for the hard sell so I went for another pick.

Cut to Friday afternoon when I was going to be doing a bit more driving than normal. I decided to go with an audiobook rather than my usual podcasts, so I got this with an Audible credit. Mysteries are my preferred driving companion, and Audible makes it so easy to return books that aren't a good fit.

This was so great on audio. I was so completely hooked. I was mad that I had to sleep that night, and I pretty much spent all day Saturday trying to do as many mindless tasks as I could so that I could keep listening.

I'm intentionally reviewing my experience rather than the story itself because there really are lots of twists that are better left unknown. I will say that I was, in fact, surprised by the ending. I enjoyed the ending, but I honestly don't know if I would have been as into it if I read the physical book. I'm a person who flips around a lot while I'm reading, and I probably would have spoiled myself. If you're an audiobook person, or even considering becoming an audiobook person, I would very highly recommend this book on audio.

Upon reading other reviews of this book, it's obvious that you either love or hate the plot and its ending. It's definitely polarising, and I unfortunately ended up disliking the turns the story took along the way. I found the twists to be implausible and quite left-of-field, and the story was riddled with coincidences that I feel ruined the story. I did, however, feel compelled to finish listening to the audiobook - I was hooked on needing to know what was really happening between Adele, David and Louise. While I did end up going with a low rating for the book, I would still recommend it to people - just be prepared to say 'WTF?!' at the final plot twist!

I loved it. It was such a wild ride and I just kept trying to figure out what her end game was. Albeit a bit fantastical, the ending was a total shocker.

What an ending! Hesitated at the 5th star because of one of the narrators horrible personality. Quite an excellent thriller. The other narrator was a little annoying too and makes one accept that the outcome was inevitable
