When I finished Kingdom of the Cursed, I needed this book immediately, and wow it was such a let down.

How could so much have happened yet nothing happened? So many random side characters/plots that didn’t matter. Emilia and Wrath became like that annoying couple in high school that would have dramatic sappy PDA filled goodbyes before going off to separate math classes or whatever. The answers to all the big questions were just so off the wall. I felt like I had missed parts of the book while reading. All the drama and turmoil was fixed so easily. I felt like I was reading a first draft and not a published conclusion to a series.

I really enjoyed this book! I liked the ending despite being frustrated at times, especially when it came Emilia I really liked this book. I would have liked to see more when it comes to Sursea along with Pride and Lucia but maybe that will come in time or in the follow up series.

I’ll admit I had the hardest time reading this book just like the first two books. From the sneak peak the author gave before the release I thought that Emilia and Wrath were finally going to get it ON. But alas, no. I was more than half way through the book before we got some sort of sexy time. There was a reason why they didn’t do it but the book…but it was so slow. This is the book that gave us all the answers we were looking for (that we needed in the first two books). And it has the most action. Although in my opinion the first two books were “bleh” to me and rated 3 stars, KotF is better in my opinion with the slow burn, answers that confused me in the previous books, and the action. Would I recommend the series? Probably not. Overall it was ok. But KotF was the best book of the three.

The ending was a little predictable, but otherwise it was good

I thought this was a great conclusion to a trilogy that got better with each book. I am glad that we got to see more of each of other princes, and would love to read more about Pride's story in the future! This book was well thought out plot wise-nothing felt "convenient" or out of place. I also appreciated that we did not have to wait until the end of the book to get a lot of the answers the series have left open. The book wrapped up nicely and I got everything I wanted to see after Book 2. This book also had WAY more spice then I expected, which I loved especially given the slow burn/tension between Wrath and Emilia over the course of the books. Lastly, I really appreciated Emilia's decision making in this story, she shows different sides to her personality and sometimes is inconsistent which imo is relatable. She acts on her emotions but has established boundaries and thinks about the boundaries of others when acting. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about her journey and development and thought Maniscalco did a fantastic job of eliciting many emotions through the series.
