As a book lover I have to say I absolutely love books about books, books about libraries, books about bookstores, I just have to read every single one of them. With Love from London is beautiful, cozy, heartbreaking, a story about love and finding yourself and to top it off it takes place in some of the most beautiful places in London AND! there is a bookstore!
Our main character is Valentina, a 35 year old (finally and adult!) librarian facing divorce when she suddenly get hit by the news her mother died and left her a bookstore in London. Victoria heads to London with hopes of selling her estate but instead she finds so much more.
With Love from London is being published today! If you love to read under your blanket with a cup of coffee by your side I absolutely recommend you give it a try.
Thank you netgalley for the advance reading copy.

I liked that this book truly was a journey of discovery and in so many ways.
Valentina grew and moved in from the loss of a 15 year marriage and decades of believing her mother abandoned her. She created lasting friendships and grew herself into this community her mother knew she would love.
It was beautiful.

A newly divorced librarian inherits a bookshop from her estranged mother and soon finds herself not only discovering her mother’s life but discovering what the future holds for her. The story follows librarian Valentina Barker who is newly divorced and discovers that she has inherited a bookshop from her deceased mother Eloise. Val has always had a difficult relationship with her mother since her mother left her when she was 12 and hasn’t heard from her since. Upon arrival in London, Val soon discovers a whole new side to her mother’s life, including the reason why she left. Eloise gives Val a scavenger hunt to discover her secrets and soon Val is meeting all of Eloise’s old friends and discovering the beauty of Primrose Hill. The story is told from two perspectives, the current timeline with Val and the past with Eloise. We get to see both Eloise and Val fall in and out of love and how their romantic relationships impact them. Eloise is stuck between the adoring American investor Frank and the man who makes her heart beat, a rich Englishman named Edward. Val is stuck between her ex Nick who left her (literally), Daniel a man in the film industry who supposedly owns the book that Val has fallen in love with, and Eric the cute columnist who’s writing is lovely. The story definitely gives you Love, Rosie vibes, especially with Eloise, her constant missed timing and missteps in her relationships and how it all works out in the end. The story is a bit sad but overall a lovely romance read. It definitely is a great one to read with a nice hot cup of tea on a cold winter day.

I give this one 3.75 stars because of a special connection I have with it though not directly related to me, but had it not been for the very random connection it would probably be 3 stars and a little boring. That being said, it is a very special book for people able able to relate at all to the story, and for those readers, I’m so glad this book exists.
Very confused by all of the high star ratings. I thought this was super cheesy and the mother was a total idiot. She blindly moves to LA and then stays for another 10 years after her miscarriage instead of just going back to London when she was miserable? she never even liked frank before moving across the world with him! And then she just let years go by without trying to connect with her daughter… obviously the letters weren’t getting through! I also thought her love for edward was weird since they met twice??
I loved this star-crossed lovers book, even though not listed that way, how it seemed to me.
Eloise grew up in the low-class area of London and it seems all of a sudden she was noticed by a richer upper-class guy. After she goes to a club with him she wants to get some air and meets the man of her dreams. They spent the rest of the evening chatting and enjoying each other's company. But it seems things just don't work out. So she ends up moving to America, California with her new husband. But all is not the golden dream he promised. I won't ruin more of the story but it is a wonderful read. Please don't miss it.
I loved this book so glad I was able to get a copy from NetGalley. This did not affect my review it is a wonderful book.

I read it as part of the 2023 book challenge to fulfill the city/country in a title. I enjoyed it--a light and easy read.
