this was like the rest of the series.... frustrated with America, a little predictable...
But I liked it anyway :) And I'm really glad that she didn't try to turn it into a longer series.

Not quite as good as I was hoping, but still a satisfying end. I really enjoyed this series.

I can't tell if this one was actually good or the bar is that low... Anyway I'm done with this series, it was fun tho.

LOved it. Excellent end to an excellent series

THIS WAS SUCH A PERFECT AND BEAUTIFUL ENDING FOR SUCH AN AMAZING SERIES! My heart hurts that it is over! I AM SO HAPPY WITH MAXON AND AMERICA! #TEAMMAXON I was kind of annoyed that it took him the whole book to choose though. I was kind of annoyed at Maxon with the way that he reacted when she told him about Aspen and her. I COMPLETELY understand it, but hadn't he been doing the exact same thing to her and then getting mad when she acted the way he did. He aced rash, emotionally, and shortsightedly, just the way he had been getting angry at her for being. I am still exceedingly glad she told him though because better before than after they were married. The night before she told him was one of the best times they'd ever had and then she had to drop that bomb though. I was still glad she did. MAXON IS STILL FLAWLESS THOUGH! I was happy about Aspen and Lucy. I wasn't particularly fond of either one of them, but I was glad they ended up happy. ANNE! I already felt bad for her about the whole Aspen thing. (I had sort of suspected the whole Lucy/Aspen situation) THEN SHE HAD TO GO AND DIE! I LOVED HER! I wish we had heard more about Mary, but I understand you can't get into everyone's lives. QUUEN AMBERLY! She was such a great mother and wife. THEN SHE HAD TO GO AND DIE! It should have only been King Clarkson. Well, that isn't fair. A lot of King Clarkson's awfulness came as a product of his upbringing (as seen in The Selection Stories), but that doesn't excuse how he acted. He didn't deseve the family he had they were wonderful. look how wonderful Maxon turned out under the circumstances? Queen Amberly saw something good in him and loved him, to the point of sacrificing herself for him, and she was a wise woman so that must mean something! CELESTE! I never expected to love, empathize, and relate to Celeste as much as I did in this book! Once she opened up to America and explained herself my heart broke. She was really a great friend when she was trying. GAH I LOVED HER! THEN SHE HAD TO GO AND DIE!!! PAIGE! I almost wanted to cry for Paige. I was so happy when she got to go and work in the castle. I wish we had heard more about her after that. It broke my heart for her and to think that happens in real life to really hits it home. Books have a way of doing that. I love Paige so much. KRISS TURNED OUT TO BE A SUPER RUDE REBEL AND I KIND OF DIDN'T EXPECT THAT. I really can't stand Kriss. I dislike her the most probably. I like Aspen well enough, but I hate Kriss with a passion. I loved America's dad. THEN HE HAD TO GO AND DIE! AMERICA'S DAD OH GOSH WHY?!?!?! I kind of liked and disliked how little she dwelled on it/ didn't let it get her down. Like that was the person she relied on most in the world for crying out loud! Then he had to betray America's and Maxon's trust (more than AMerica already had) by telling the northern rebels. WHICH HE DID NOT TELL HIS DAUGHTER WHO WAS IN THE CASTLE HIS GROUP WAS ATTACKING ABOUT!! That fact makes me unendingly angry. So does her brother Kota. Kota is a douche bag. In the end, Maxon and America got married with many losses, but they were happy and they had each other. That makes me very happy. P.S. America standing up for what she believed in, in this book made me so happy! I loved how she was doing the righ thing, but acting rationally about it! When she gave the man, who had only stolen clothes for his children and was getting a lifetime sentence, her earrings, bracelet, and songbird necklace, things she said she'd never part with, I nearly cried I was so proud!

I read this book in two days and I feel it was moving slow. There was so much extra drama that was unnecessary. I'm still going to read the rest of the series because I have a slight addiction but I wish the next book would pick up after the marriage and not make the reader go through the selection process again. actually I would have been okay with a trilogy.

It was okay. It honestly took me forever to finish, but the last 1/3 of the book really was the best part.
I'll probably read the next one.
