Reading this trilogy over four days was a bit like binging an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting. I have no regrets right now, but I probably will in the morning.
My favorite so far of the series. The love triangle stuff got super annoying in this one but the resolution of it was funny in way due to being a bit different than some other teen series. Hard to explain without spoilers.
This book had better writing than the others but I liked it less... the ending.... upset me, to say the least.
this book is a constant reminder of why i love, but also hate at the same time, this series so much. this book definitely has the most interesting and page-turning events in it. the ups-and-downs of this book are what make me feel so strongly about it, on both ends of the spectrum. america is so annoying, maxon is up and down (love him tho), and aspen, jeez i can't even get into how he makes my blood boil. but this series is a safe place for me, I can always go to it and immerse myself when I need to escape real life. no matter how I feel about these characters or this world, it's my book home. "break my heart, break it a thousand times if you'd like. it was only ever yours to break anyway."
this is what i’m using my english degree for as intended
I really had no idea what the outcome was going to be. I didn’t expect Prince Maxon to truly develop feelings for another contestant. There were a lot of twists and turns in the plot that I was not expecting. It was a great ending to America’s journey.
Ah what a fantastic binge this has been. Things are really heating up and secrets are spilling. Oppression, lies and rebels.
I love how we see the “Act for those who can’t speak up fkr themselves”.
As usual America still irked me sometimes but in the end all was well.
I loved the rebel aspect and what ended up happening with the characters.
Your royal husbandness. If I ever get married to a man I shall call him this!
Excited after finishing to see that this will carry on to the next generation. Keen to see what they do with it!

This is the 3rd and final book. I don't want to give anything away so I will say that I thought it wrapped up nicely, though perhaps a bit predictably. I am okay with that, I like happy endings. I still like the times America is able to get past the kings manipulations. Clever girl!
Surprising: All of the deaths. Though looking back now, none should have been surprising. I guess my senses were dulled by the monotony of America's "I love Maxon but I'm forever tied to Aspen but does Maxon love me and how can I even tell Maxon I love him if I don't know he loves me and how can I even tell Aspen that I love Maxon because Aspen is my Aspen and I don't want to be a princess but maybe I would make a good one and pout and stomp and slam doors" drama.
Not surprising: Everything else.
Three stars for at the very least being entertaining enough for me to want to finish it...but I'm stopping here. I don't need to see what the future holds for Illea. I'm just fine leaving it where it is.

Great ending to the series. I thought it was better paced then the previous two. Loved the endings for each of the characters.
