YES TEAM MAXON PREVAILS HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH anyways i’m crying cause it’s over
4.5 ⭐️ it started off slow but the ending was so good
I loved the first three books. I read them in a matter of three days they’re phenomenal!
I truthfully believe this was the strongest book in the series, maybe with what all it had to live up to, or maybe just because this was the first book in a long time I was excited to read and basically read in a day (I haven't done that in ages).
But it also makes me a bit sad, knowing this is the last one of America's story specifically makes me, I don't know, not really rushing to pick up The Heir? I'm sure it'll be interesting, and I'd love to hear what happens after so many years and where their love story went but I felt so connected to these two and their story right up until the last sentence, a flash forward wasn't really what I'm looking forward to, as I fear they will rarely be in the last two books..
I hope to be wrong of course, but I'll just have to open up the next one to see.
I would definitely recommend this series now that I'm part way through, I'm curious to read from a new perspective, and I'm excited to read the novellas as well.

Good god so infuriating they really extended the hell out of some of that indecisiveness
Short review, because I forgot to review nearer the time and it's been a few weeks now, so my memory isn't as great as it would've been. This was a super fun, satisfying conclusion to a really enjoyable series, and I do plan on continuing with the next few books in the spinoff and the novellas. As much as they can be annoying at times, I do like the characters of America and Maxon, and side characters are cute too. Would be interested to learn more about the world outside the palace though, so maybe that will be covered a bit more in the next books. We shall see!
Let me start off by saying, I did NOT expect to like this series so much. Let me also say, I will not be reading the other two books in this series because I don’t want them to taint my image of these books. I simply adored America. In the first book, she was alright, but I really loved how she stood up for what she believed in, in the second and third book. She’s headstrong, beautiful, and kind. Although I feel her relationship with Maxon started off too quickly, I loved the romance. His confessions (especially the letters) were so heartfelt and beautiful. Maybe that’s just the hopeless romantic in me. Anyway I love these books
Ok. I read the first three and will probably read the last two but can’t we have a cool girl without whining and a love triangle?!
