This was my favorite book of the trilogy!!! Quick read, great wrap up to the story. And I like that in this book things starting taking place with the rebellion.
adventurous dark hopeful inspiring lighthearted mysterious slow-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Character
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The pace of this book is a little off as it builds up the budding romance and conclusion of the main plot introduced in the first two books for the majority of the book just to close it all out rapidly towards the end, giving vague, unexpected solutions/answers to ongoing conflicts and subplots. However the overall story is still as heartwarming and endearing, with needed character highlights and encouraging changes strived for early on.

This was always my favorite of the 3. It still probably is, but the first one is a close second. This time reading it, it felt like I could've used a little more happy at the end. See a little more of their relationship post-you know what. Even so, I like this one. :)

Another late night staying up to finish this amazing book! As soon as I finished The Elite I knew I had to start The One and I was SO not disappointed!

I swear though the last ten chapters of this book I felt like I was having a heart attack because my feels were too much. MY HEART COULDN'T COPE. I literally went through a roller coaster of emotions at the end of this book. My boyfriend was laughing at the me the entire time because there were some points where I was actually screaming at this book! I'm in too deep! SEND HELP!

In The One we are down to four contestants for Prince Maxon's heart and the crown. Things are getting worse with the rebel activities and the King isn't being easy on America either. Pressure is everywhere as Maxon and America's relationship is tested again and again.

I have to be honest at the beginning there were times I wanted to go into the book and slap some sense into America...she can be so...frustrating at times! I have mentioned this before in a previous review that she isn't one of my favourite female leads but I definitely enjoyed her more in this book. I think she actually develops a lot in this part of the story as she realises what it would take to be princess and eventually queen of Ilea.

We get to see old characters again in this book and I really enjoyed seeing the development in some of the minor characters in this series. Thank the lord she finally talks to Aspen about their relationship in this book! Seriously that bit was giving me serious heart palpitations - especially towards the end!

I can't wait to read The Heir. I am so glad I hadn't read the blurb for that one cause it would have TOTALLY killed this book.

For fans of The Selection story, The One is not a disappointment - in fact things get more intense! Friendships are tested and secrets are revealed and oooooh it's just so good I couldn't put it down!

Happy Reading Everyone!

THIS ONE LITERALLY!!!!! JUST GOT ME! so good, couldn’t put it down, the way things kept happening and, this was my third reread (but it’s been like 6 years since I reread it), and I was STILL SHOCKED AND SURPRISED
