Adorei! O melhor livro dos 3... é o mais triste também, mas tudo o resto compensa.

So far this is my favorite of the series. I love the thing with Celeste, the King & the Queen!
Spoiler Well not really the death, but i love the plot twist!!!

I enjoyed seeing this 'love triangle' between Maxon, America and Aspen progress. Where do i find one of my own please? Also, i'm glad this series so far isn't as dramatic as i expected and that they don't have too much cheese and sap!

Looking forward to the next few!!

I enjoyed The Selection, it is the Royal Bachelor and I took it for what it was, just that. I didn’t expect a deep plot or anything. The Elite drove me crazy because it was just a bunch of wishy-washy angst. The One is sorta in the middle. There is wishy-washy angst or just miscommunication angst and then there is also some story line consisting of something a little deeper.

I really wanted to like this more than I did. It wasn’t all bad but I looked at my predictions in my review of The Elite https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/547147131?book_show_action=false and I’m going to say that while I wasn’t completely correct I was pretty dang close. I liked America Singer in the first book but she lost something in the next installments and I really didn’t like her as much, actually most of the time I wanted to slap her and scream “what are you thinking?” Her intentions are always good, her execution of plans almost always goes poorly.

Things I like. - There is a definite resolution to the story. Clear choices are made there is no ambiguity on what the future will be for the people involved and I liked how most of that resolved. I also liked how a few of the characters changed when you got to the heart of who they were. Celeste for example I began to really like. She was a little more complex than originally shown and became a more real person in this book…… There are a few declarative speeches that were touching and that we have waited a long time for that I liked but ultimately that I wanted more of…..Um that was about all I liked.

Things that did not work for me. - I hate false angst driven stories that rely on misunderstandings and miscommunications. There are a lot of better ways to develop drama in a story. So many things were not really fleshed out well. The rebels, were explained a little but not as in depth as I would have liked for both the north and the south. Conversations between characters to solidify the actual resolution of feelings before and after misunderstandings were not included or breezed over. A few of the wrap up solutions at the end were just too neat in a messy kind of way i. e.
SpoilerJust kill off all of the people standing in the way.
I wanted a stronger more confident America that once she decided what she wanted she just went for it, exclaimed it instead of hinting around being afraid to take the plunge.

I would have liked this story more if it was just one book focusing on The Selection and did not try to add in the rebel story line since that didn’t seem very thought out. So much that is in The Elite could have been taken out and the same with The One. As dystopian series go it is really blah. I really liked a few characters but for the most part the rest of it was flat.

The thing I’m the most angry about - Maxon is incredibly sweet and solicitous, giving gifts to everyone and doing what he can for them. He almost always thinks about what America wants. America on the other hand never did anything for him. She lies to him, makes things difficult with his father and gets in trouble all time. She is supposed to be this great singer and entertainer and I really thought that the least she could do was give him a song. Either play one or sing one she made specifically for him. But not once in this entire series did she do anything for him. Teenage girls out there, that is not okay. Okay my soapbox trip is over.

I give the entire series 2.5 stars

Well, I think we all knew deep down that America would be 'The One'. The Maxon/Aspen thing still bothered me, but not so much in this book as in the last. Glad they fell out of love with each other so Aspen found Lucy and America could be with Maxon without feeling guilty for having A as a safety net.
I wish America had told Maxon about Aspen much much earlier though. Preferably when he came to the castle.
Anyways, it's a good book and a solid ending to the series :)

series should have ended here. this is the marvel movie equivalent in the book world where there just grow to be so many god damn spinoffs and sequels and prequels and all that extra shit that eventually you have to realize somewhere down the line that you have just fully lost the plot. like the plot is so far gone it's no longer even in the same reality as you. that's what all these extra books after this one are
