I loved Lauren immediately in book one (her kiss with Adrianne lives rent-free in my mind). I was pleasantly surprised to see a bisexual heroine. I would have read this series much earlier had I known. It wasn’t brought up a lot, but was handled well, in my opinion. It was a bit confusing that she went from mostly into women to mostly into men in her own book. Yet, I get it: Travis was HOT! From the drawl to the cleanliness, the man was practically perfect. And smarter than he let on. The fact that Lauren could go from elegant to dirty and back made her even more awesome. There was a ton of chemistry between them, made better by all the banter. I have to admit, like Lauren, that Sapphire Falls is growing on me too.

Erin Nicholas has earned a spot as one of my favorite authors of small town romance. In Getting Dirty (Sapphire Falls #3) she tackles the issue of small town v big city. We met Lauren Davis in the previous two books (which you don’t have to have read to get this book but you will enjoy it much more if you do) Getting Out of Hand (Sapphire Falls #1) and Getting Worked Up (Sapphire Falls #2). Lauren is a character. She is super smart, urbane, witty and sexy as heck. I love that Erin Nicholas has made smart so sexy in these books. But there is another kind of smart and Travis Bennett is heart smart. He gets people and is kind, giving and kind of a stud to top it off. I’d like to say I read this in one sitting and would have if real life hadn’t dragged me away but you can always go home to Sapphire Falls.

I really enjoyed Lauren and Travis' story. I must admit I wasn't fussed on Lauren in the first book but she grew on me during the series so far. Lauren is strong and confident in herself but also vulnerable and scared as a result of a past relationship and seeing how relationships changed her Mum and sister. I enjoyed seeing the softer side to her. Travis is comfortable with himself and where he is at in life, he loves Sapphire Falls and everything that gives him. But I think Lauren challenges him to think about that and whether he wants new experiences. The deal they make at the beginning, their 'experiment' is complete crazy but makes for some very interesting and steamy 'tests'!

Another crazy addictive small town romance series. I've already purchased all of the other books since the first three have been so good.

I really hated this book! Lauren was such a complete witch about Sapphire Falls, which was so hypocritical, since she was obviously a country girl, both in her past and in her heart. I hated the way she attempted to use Travis to get over her desire to remain in the town, and I lost respect for Travis for agreeing to her harebrained scheme in the first place. Lauren's reasons for not wanting to stay in Sapphire Falls was flimsy at best, and while this was a shorter read, it was not an enjoyable one for me, and I've not enjoyed the series enough to continue with it.

Getting Dirty by Erin Nicholas is the third book in the Sapphire Falls series. Lauren doesn't want to fall in love with Sapphire Falls. She does not want to settle down and doesn't want to give up her luxurious life in the city. Her best change to achieve this goal is to ask Travis, a farmer, to show her what life she might have in Sapphire Falls. Both can't really stand each other, but they are also attracted to each other.

When I first read about Lauren, I was not quite sure if I liked her. She was against a relationship between her best friend Mason and Adrianne, just because she wanted him for herself. But fortunately, her view changed. I really like her personality. She is very outspoken and shows and tells others what she wants. Travis is in many ways the total opposite of her. He loves his town, doesn't like the city and would give anything for a routine. He plays a dumb farmer in front of Lauren to support her view of farmers. And Lauren does anything to annoy him. I actually really like their chemistry. They complement each other very well.

But with Lauren's sexuality, this book really missed an opportunity! How amazing would it have been to have a relationship between two ladies in this book! I would have loved this! Having queer characters in such romance books is rarely the case. So having Lauren was already very thrilling. But I am very sorry that she did not get a girlfriend in this book. That would have been so amazing!

I enjoyed the third book in the series as well. I already feel like home in Sapphire Falls and I can't wait to keep on reading.

Lauren Davis has left her country roots behind. Or she thought she had. Then her best friend/boss fell in love with a woman from Sapphire Falls. And now, this big-city woman is right back where she started. Or, at least nearby.
Travis Bennett is the opposite of everything that Lauren wants. At least, that's what she tells herself. Except that she's so darn attracted to him. And to the town. So she makes a deal with Travis for him to help her not to fall in love with either. But, of course, it all backfires in the best way.
This book was s-l-o-w for the first quarter to third. I was listening to it and, if I hadn't been working on a project at the time, I probably would have DNF'd the book. However, it picked up a bit once the two actually fell in love but then the Big Misunderstanding at the end felt like overkill. The book was okay but, should I ever re-read the series I will probably skip this one.

Ahhhh Travis! The sexy Farm Boy. Lauren's attraction to him and his to her is something neither of them want. Travis agrees to Lauren's plan to show her all of the reasons she would NOT want to move to Sapphire Falls and fall in love with a farm boy...any farm boy. In the process, she ends up falling more in love with the town and the farm boy but they both know it will never work. She is destined for more than small town life. She has a company to run now that Mason has married and moved to Sapphire Falls. The future of their company depends on her, right?

Erin Nicholas makes me fall more in love with the little town of Sapphire Falls with each story she tells. I want to move there! Small town life is such a breath of fresh air. Sexy farm boys, bonfires, friendships, family traditions, love, and sizzling sex in truck beds. I can't wait for my next adventure in Sapphire Falls, Nebraska, U.S.A.
